Are there plans to migrate to Google Maps API V3

Currently everything in the Google Maps API is for V2. Are there plans to migrate to V3 soon?

Thanks for the link. However, none of the examples on the site seem to work. Any thoughts?

Yeah...I noticed too that a bunch of them didn't work...there are some that do:

I would suspect that it has to do with some if the underlying ESRI sample servers they have referenced but I didn't check into it. I've had pretty good luck getting the samples to work with our AGS services.

Some of the examples in the v3 documentation page do not work, particularly in the cached tiled service overlay, and I'm wondering if this line is not the culprit:

map.overlayMapTypes.insertAt(0, agsType);

Does anybody know how to fix this, or get this to work?

Please go to http://ideas.esri.com and vote on the posts regarding updating the ArcGIS Javascript Extension for Google Maps API. There are a couple posts that request ESRI to update the ArcGIS Javascript Extension to support Google Maps API v3.

The more people that vote and make the business case for supporting Google Maps API v3, the more likely ESRI will take it under consideration.

Are there any updates to this question?

I have been tasked by my company to build a webapp using the arcgis google api, my preference is to not use the deprecated v2 api.

Previous posters have mentioned using the library from http://google-maps-utility-library-v3.googlecode.com/svn-history/r172/trunk/arcgislink/docs/examples.html, who provides this library? is it production quality?
