SharePoint Framework Webpart

I've been trying for the past 3 days to get ArcGIS JS API to work inside a SPFX webpart, but haven't figured it out. I've tried using "externals" and also using "esri-loader". Has anyone managed to get this working? Maybe the ESRI team can post an example.

Did you figure this out yet?

I am about to start the process of building a custom web map within Sharepoint. We plan on using the ArcMaps For Sharepoint lists and pulling them into the map.

Could you please let me know what troubles you are having?

No I didn't. I was getting JavaScript errors in the browser, there's some incompatibility between SPFx and ArcGIS JS. It should be easy for them to provide an example, but I guess it's easier to ignore this obvious glaring issue.
