topic 2-Dimensional Slider over Map in ArcGIS JavaScript Maps SDK Questions

I would like to place a small button in the corner of a map. Pressing the button would expose a two-dimensional slider which would present a draggable puck controlling two variables.

I am just beginning with the API for JavaScript. How difficult would this be? What would be the best approach?
