Set different extent in map

Hello All,

I want to set custom extent in Map so how do I set custom extent in JSAPI 3.4/3.5 ?

In previous version 3.0 I used

dojo.toJson(map.extent.toJson());

this one and I know in version 3.5 there are lot of changes so not able to set custom extent..

Any help will be great !!!
