I'd be interested to know that as well, though I'm skeptical considering the amount of effort they've put into their mobile SDKs, which rock.

Nonetheless, I'd be interested to know/see what you come up with.

Cheers.

- d

We are interested in creating a Hybrid mapping app. At the Dev Summit there was a demo of an Esri component that allows for communication between the hosted HTML/JS app and the native hosting app. Does anyone know more about this component?

This blog post below discusses the Hybrid model and suggests 3rd party frameworks. I'm interested to see if this Esri component would replace the need for one of these frameworks or not.

http://blogs.esri.com/esri/arcgis/2013/03/19/choosing-a-mobile-development-strategy-2/

Thanks
-Brian

Think you may be referring to phonegap. It's not an esri component, but this is what is used to create 'hybrid' apps.

http://phonegap.com/

Thanks for your response!

I am somewhat familiar with Phonegap. At the Dev Summit this type of communication was demoed as if it was a new Esri component, and not a 3rd party framework. We may move forward with a framework like Phonegap, but before we do that we'd like to know if Esri is coming out with a component that may give similar communication between the native/HTML apps.
