    <description>&lt;HTML&gt;&lt;HEAD&gt;&lt;/HEAD&gt;&lt;BODY&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;As a follow-up, I have heard nothing on the front of using the ArcGIS Javascript API and ArcGIS Server to generate and deliver server-side heat/density maps. However, thanks to &lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;A href="http://www.patrick-wied.at/"&gt;Patrick Wied&lt;/A&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt; and inspiration from his &lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;A href="http://www.patrick-wied.at/static/heatmapjs/"&gt;client-side Javascript library&lt;/A&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;, I was able to put together a demo of &lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;A href="http://webstage.osceola.org/testing/arcgis/densitymapping/heatmapjs/index.cfm"&gt;client-side heat map generation here&lt;/A&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;.&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;Basically, this mash-up creates a colorized image using the &amp;lt;canvas&amp;gt; tag and then applies it as a GGroundOverlay (Google Maps API v2) to a Google Map. Currently it only supports non-IE browsers, but I am working on integrating excanvas.js to support IE 7 and 8.&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;/BODY&gt;&lt;/HTML&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;HTML&gt;&lt;HEAD&gt;&lt;/HEAD&gt;&lt;BODY&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;Hi there,&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;I'm very interested in learning how to generate heatmaps utilizing the ArcGIS API, particularly in conjunction with Google Maps. I've done some searching and the only relevant thread that I found was &lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;A href="http://forums.arcgis.com/threads/7078-Heatmaps"&gt;here&lt;/A&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;, yet there is no real discussion of implementation, usage, etc...&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;From what I've read, both the Flex and Silverlight APIs have methods that can be used to generate heatmaps and I was wondering if the Javascript or Google Extension APIs would be receiving equivalent method calls in the near future or if there is a work-around that I am unaware of.&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;I'm still new to the Google Extension API and mapping in general, so please forgive my ignorance if there's anything that I've said should be blindingly obvious.
