topic how to get operational layers from a map like you would from a webmap in ArcGIS JavaScript Maps SDK Questions

Rather than creating a webmap, I have my own map that I add layers to, with the first (zero array element) being the basemap. I've seen with a webmap object you can get just the operational layers like this: itemInfo.itemData.operationalLayers
is there an equivalent for a map?
