dojo is undefined IE 8

When I try and run my application in IE 8, I immediately get an error saying dojo is undefined.

I read an old post with this problem http://forums.esri.com/Thread.asp?c=158&f=2396&t=284453
which said to put <meta http-equiv="X-UA-Compatible" content="IE=7" /> to run in compatability mode.

This made no difference.

My application is running from a secure server, https://......
It firstly askes if I want to run page in secure mode. When I answer yes, I get dojo is undefined error.
When I answer No, it does not give me that error.

Anyone know why this is happening ?

It turns out I will not need to use the page in secure mode so it won't be an issue for me.
