When changing a subtype, for example the type of an object, ArcGIS Pro and the JavaScript SDK Editor widget request confirmation because default values may be updated:

"You are changing the subtype for this feature. Would you also like to change the default attributes for the feature to those defined by the new subtype?"

This message appears even when no default values have been defined for the affected subtypes.

In ArcGIS Pro, this behaviour can be disabled through the general project-specific editing options. There is no comparable option for the JavaScript SDK.

Suggestion for improvement

The confirmation message should only appear when default values are actually defined and changes to additional attributes are expected.

The current message creates confusion for users and gives the impression that additional attribute changes are being applied, despite the fact that no default values exist.

This can result in unnecessary clicks and follow-up questions during day-to-day operations, especially for simple subtype-based classifications.
