ArcGIS API for Flex v2.3 released today!

Today we released version 2.3 of both ArcGIS API for Flex and ArcGIS Viewer for Flex.

Among the highlights to both Flex API and Flex Viewer:
* Support for pop-ups in ArcGIS.com web maps.
* Snapping when drawing and editing.
* Continuous pan across date line.
* New pop-up capabilites.
Some of these features were highlighted at the Esri Developer Summit in March, so you might want to check out this video from there.

Check out the What's New (API) in the updated help for the full list of API changes.

Tip: If you don't see the new pages, try emptying your browser cache.

Is that the same for the Flexviewer 2.3 source?.. The Download is still the 2.2 source.

Bjorn, the what's new states that InfoWindow has been moved from com.esri.ags.components.supportClasses.
I think it now sits in com.esri.ags.components, is that correct?

My InfoWindows seems to be all broken now when I use my own InfoWindowRender.
Should I just make a new thread?

The Download is still the 2.2 source.

The source code download is now using 2.3. Sorry for the late update on that zip file.

Yes, please.

As part of the sparkification of InfoWindow there was quite a few related changes. A separate thread would be a good idea.

Currently running API for Flex 2.1. If I update to 2.3 will I have to rebuild and re-add all my widgets to the viewer like I did when I moved from 1.3 to 2.1?

I hear you there... But there are a few things I like about the new viewer and I am in the process of migrating my site right now. That is a lot of work on my side as there is a ton of out of the box FlexViewer stuff and code that I have fixed or enhanced. All I have left to do now is migrate my widgets to use the PopUpInfo vs the old InfoPopupWidget.

Yeah I have a few of your widgets. The idea of having to update them and re-add them doesn't sound fun. For some reason, I thought all my Flex 2.1 widgets would work fine if I updated to Flex 2.3. Thats just crazy thinking on my part lol.

Under "Demographics"
Are all of the PopUp*.xml sub-layers supposed to display? I only get the Blockgroups.xml showing a result?

Robert, I could download and setup the v2.3 api and run it side by side with my v2.1 version and get things built in v2.3. That way I leave my v2.1 running and users can use it. When I am finished with building v2.3 I can roll it over to that and just delete the v2.1 correct?
