Bottom line is, it is not possible unless you are a very experienced developer and prepared to re-write the whole toc package under the FlexViewer2.5/src/com/esri/viewer/components which the layer list widget uses.&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;Don't forget to &lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;STRONG&gt;click the Mark as answer check &lt;/STRONG&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;and to &lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;STRONG&gt;click the top arrow (promote)&lt;/STRONG&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt; as shown below:&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;A href="http://gis.calhouncounty.org/FlexViewer2.5/Answer.jpg"&gt;&lt;IMG src="http://gis.calhouncounty.org/FlexViewer2.5/Answer.jpg" /&gt;&lt;/A&gt;&lt;/BODY&gt;&lt;/HTML&gt;</description>

      <title>Group operational layers in layerlist</title>

      <description>&lt;HTML&gt;&lt;HEAD&gt;&lt;/HEAD&gt;&lt;BODY&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;I'm just looking to thematically group various operational layers within the layerlist widget.&amp;nbsp; The operational layers are from various sources, dynamic services, KML.&amp;nbsp; In other words, something like this:&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;Infrastructure&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp; - roads&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp; - cities&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;Hydro&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp; - lakes&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp; - rivers&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp; - dams&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;These groupings won't serve any purpose other than to organize many layers(don't need the group titles to have checkboxes).&amp;nbsp; I'd be really grateful for any pointers.&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;/BODY&gt;&lt;/HTML&gt;</description>
