topic problem with basemaps from a firewalled server in ArcGIS API for Flex Questions

Hello everybody,
we are testing our viewer (SFV 1.3) which loads both basemaps and feature layers served by a machine behind a firewall (see this thread http://forums.arcgis.com/threads/14809-ArcGIS-Server-on-a-machine-with-private-IP-behind-a-firewall).
The problem is that while the feature layers in the "livemaps" section of the config.xml are correctly loaded and visualized, the raster basemaps (both tiled or dynamic) aren't, if accessed from outside the intranet.
In particular, if one of our own basemaps is the first to be loaded (like you want to do if you want to easily get a custom LOD list) the viewer can't handle the scale
levels. If the service is tiled, no scale at all is set (scale displayed as 1:0). If it is dynamic, the scale is set depending on the initial extent and the window size, so it is incompatible with the standard LODs from the ESRI basemap services.
No problem at all if we work within the institute's network.
Is it possible that the proxy works fine only for livemaps and not for basemaps????
Thanks!
Nicola
