Enhanced Search Widget - User Defined search area

I've incorporated Robert Scheitlin's enhanced search widget (http://resources.esri.com/arcgisserver/apis/flex/index.cfm?fa=codeGalleryDetails&scriptID=16599) into my SFV app.

I have had several requests from users to provide an option to perform multiple searches on the same query area. Right now the widget queries a user defined graphical area, but if the user wants to query a separate dataset from the combobox they have to redraw the query area. That is fine for search areas with simply geometries but for more complex areas (multiple adjacent land parcels) it creates a cumbersome work flow.

Has anyone incorporated the option to reuse the user defined graphical area in multiple queries from the search widget? Or better yet does anyone have any ideas on how to use the graphics drawn in the draw widget as the search area for the enhanced search widget? There was some confusion about drawing project areas in the draw widget and then having to use a different widget to query the project area.

Any info is greatly appreciated.

The new version 1.0.7 now has that ability.

Text Search Not Working First

I have posted this on the sample thread for this tool, but here it is again:

Has anybody else noticed that if you use the "Text Search" first, it does not work until you use the "Graphical Search" at least once before?

I am going to post this again, would you know how to fix the problem of "Text Search" not working until a "Graphical Search" is executed?
