topic Reverse Geocoding in Address Points Questions

Hi all and thanks in advanced.

I have a set of points that have x/y coordinates attached and I am trying to use "Reverse Geocode" to attach an address to each point using an in-house address locator. From my understanding this tool is supposed to just attach address information to each point and not exactly move the geometry.

However, when I run the reverse geocode the output points are moved to the anchor points of the address locator?

How do I prevent this from happening? I do not want manhole cover points moved to the parcel centroids (anchor points) I only want the address information added to each feature.

Thanks

Hi Benjamin,

After you perform the Reverse Geocode, you can use the Join Field tool to join the address fields back to the original feature class.

Ah Thanks!

I had this work-around thought out already. I'm conducting some training in the coming weeks and wanted to see if there was a simpler way to show them how to do this. Guess that Join method it is!

Thanks!
