Spliting 3D Mesh Scene Layer Package

I have a sample 3D Mesh scene layer package that is selectable as a single object in ArcGIS Pro. I experimented with overlaying a parcel polygon layer over the 3D mesh and tried to split or divide the 3D object into many features/records by the parcel polygon layer but it does'nt seem to work. My next attempt was to do a spatial join with the 3D mesh and the polygon layer to see of the attribute information from the polygon could be found in the mesh. No one these seems to be working. Is thee any way to divide a 3D mesh so that it can be changed into many features instead of one object ?

Hi,

You can use the Clip geoprocessing tool to clip out portions of an integrated mesh scene layer package using a polygon feature layer.

Hello Andrew,

The clip tool did not achieve what I originally had in mind. The 3D mesh layer is still selectable as one object. I also noticed that the 3D mesh layer does not have an attribute table available and does not have the "join and relates" buton available. Is there a way to convert this 3D mesh to make these buttons accessible ?

Hi,

Unfortunately the clip tool is the only option for splitting an integrated mesh scene layer package. Since the integrated mesh is a cached dataset there is no attribute table as there are no attributes for the layer. Attributes is something we are looking at supporting in the long term and once we enable reading attributes they would have to be written out by 3rd party vendors too. I would keep an eye on the ArcGIS Pro roadmap for updates or feel free to log an ArcGIS Idea if you want more specific updates.
