Hi all!

I'm using Arc Map 10.1 and I have a problem with the 3D feature tool - "Near 3D". I have sets of lines and points and I want to find out the X and Y coordinate (lets assume that z is 0) of the nearest point on the near feature (the lines). (In other words, later I want to snap the nearest points to each line)
Therefore, if location in the tool is checked, the columns NEAR X, NEAR Y and NEAR Z and also other columns are added to the dataset.

Now to the problem: These columns sometimes contain the value 1 instead of the coordinates of the nearest point on the line feature or the coordinates from the nearest point feature itself.

Any ideas why? Sometimes the solution is correct, but most wrong values are computed and I was not able to find out why.

Thanks, Richi
