topic Problems exporting map to PDF that contains TIN dataset in ArcMap 9.3 in 3D Questions

Usually I print to PDF to create my output map but when I print to PDF from my map document that contains a TIN dataset, the file fails to draw properly (the outline of the TIN data appears but doesn't complete in the centre and no additional vector data is drawn). I have since tried using the 'export map' function but this produces enormous file sizes (28,000KB +) and takes about 30 seconds to draw each time I open the exported PDF.

I can't help but think there has to be a way of reducing the size of the TIN dataset so that it can be represented as one image/a simple layer rather than redrawing each and every time I do anything within my map. I've used the 'TIN to raster' tool in 3D Analyst, which does work however as it's a raster file the quality is reduced.

If anyone in the ArcGis world can shed some light on this it would be huuugely appreciated!

Hannah
