Surface Volume Tool

I have been trying to calculate the volume between two TIN surface's using the surface volume tool (ArcGIS 10.1).

I have set the plane height to 100 (far above the highest point on the TIN, and keep this value the same for both TIN's) but when I change this to say 150, the volume difference between the TIN's changes. Should the volume difference not be the same (although I appreciate the actual volumes will increase proportionally to the plane height change!)??

I think you should try the Surface Difference tool.

Hi Eric,
I did try using the surface difference tool but kept getting an 'Error 99999' which said its an unknown error code... So was trying to do the calculation manually in light of this.
