topic Extract LAS failing in 3D Mapping Questions

Using ArcGIS pro. I have 9 las files which i combined into one LAS dataset. Wanted to clip the las dataset/points based on a shapefile. I tried the Extract LAS tool but it kept failing. I could view the LAS dataset and create DSMs and DTMs with it. Seems like the problem lies with the Extract LAS too.

bummer no one replied. I'm getting really frustrated with the same tool failing in Pro 3.x. Will not acknowledge my extract boundary and output is las/lasd of the exact same extent as the og LAS file.

In my case, on Arcgis pro 3.3.2, there is no error and the tool succeeds. But the result is the same as the input.

I got my extraction with polygon boundary, but I had to "convert" the LAS file to a LAS Dataset. The original LAS had no spatial reference, so I created one (.prj file), which worked fine in the map, but obviously not for the extract tool. With the new .lasd (that has the same spacial reference), the extraction with boundary using the same polygon shape as before succeded. Strange, b/c the new LAS Dataset (.lasd) is just a link container that points to the old .las file. Also strange, that, in contrast to the (conversion) tool's description, I cannot convert between different file types. It accepts only .lasd as output file extension.
But I'm relatively new to the Pro version, so, maybe I'm missing something.
