Could you bring the SXD file to a local drive?

Close all ArcGIS Applications.

Rename the scene template (Normal.sxt to Normal_old.sxt) under C:\Users\<UserName>\AppData\Roaming\ESRI\Desktop<10.x>\ArcScene

If required, rename the Esri Folder to Esri_old in AppData (C:\Users\<UserName>\AppData\Roaming\ESRI).

Restart a blank ArcScene to check if it opens fine. Then try opening your SXD file from the local drive.

In case the issue persists, please contact Esri Technical Support team for assistance.

Is there a way to recover a broken ArcScene .sxd file? It happened after ArcScene crashed and now when I try to open the project file, ArcScene gets stuck on loading the .sxd file. The file is stored on an external hard drive.
