3D Printing Geospatial Features

Poll created by CAndrews-esristaff Employee on Jan 5, 2015

I've been hearing a bunch about 3D printing in the Urban Design, Architectural, and City Modeling domains.  3D printers and printing services are becoming more easily accessible and cheaper.  How often would you use 3D printed models of built or natural environments in your work?

3D printed models can be created from many things including:

  • Subsurface volumetric forms
  • Atmospheric analytic shapes
  • Individual buildings or sites
  • Cityscapes
  • New port or canal structures
  • Natural environmental shapes

  • I don't see a need
  • It would be a nice-to-have addition to projects, but I probably wouldn't use it
  • I would use it on some projects
  • Customers have asked for it and I am already exploring use of it on my projects
  • What's 3D printing?
