Hi, the raster size is sub meter and I'm looking at trenches of more than 5m. I will try to use the method you suggested (slope/culture) and see how it goes. Thanks for your help!

Hi all, I'm trying to do a study using GIS and I need to identify trenches more than a certain width. I have a raster elevation layer and all I can think about is to first do a flow analysis to identify the flow path as it is where the trenches are likely to be at. However, I am not too sure on how I can get the width of these areas. Anyone has any ideas? Thanks!

Hi Dan I have just read through them but they do not really address the problem I am facing now which is to modify the 'lines' in OD matrix to have varying thickness.

Hi all Is it possible to present data from OD Matrix according to the number of trips from each Origin to each Destination? The case is I have one single origin now that goes to 10 other destinations. Every destination has a different demand.. Some are more popular and some are not. So is it possible to present this difference using ArcMap? I tried playing with the OD Matrix solver but it always just give me the straight lines to illustrate the trips from the origin to the destinations. Would be good if it is possible to vary the thickness of lines to show which stops are more popular such as having very thick lines for destinations that are very popular and thin lines for unpopular destinations. Any suggestion would really be appreciated!

Hi Srirama I have a notepad with all the permutations available. However, I am not too sure how to go about from here. I have my network layer with me as well. I'm only stuck with how to fit that list of permutations into an iterator to generate different routes. Regards Hazel On Tue, Sep 29, 2015 at 1:41 AM, Srirama Bhamidipati <geonet@esri.com>

Hi all Is there any way that I can build a model to iterate for different routes based on different combinations of stops? For example, I have 6 stops A,B,C,D,E and F. The fixed sequencing is F-->A--> .......-->F. After the first 2 stops, whatever combinations of B,C,D,E are possible before the route ends at F. I need the list of total distance travelled based on the different combinations. Does anyone knows how I may go about doing it? Thanks!

Hi Dan, The main focus I have is getting the optimal route, regardless of whether it's a single bus or a fleet of vehicles. Sorry about not phrasing my question more specific.

The scenario is more like: Shortest route to stop at 5 bus stops are A >B >C >D >E At A, 15 people board the bus. 7 people are dropping off at D, 3 at E, 3 at C and 2 at B. Hence, the bus would ideally go D >E >C-->B to reduce the total in-vehicle time for the people although it could mean slightly longer distance travelled by the bus.

Hi Neil and Dan The case is I have one single origin to pick up passengers and they are heading towards different destinations. I want to find the best route that accounts for cost from both travel distance and total travel time for the passengers. Hence, ideally it should minimise the total time passengers spent in the vehicle and the total distance of the route.

Hi, I have a project with the goal to route a new shuttle bus route based on demand for each bus stops. This bus service will pick up passengers at a bus stop then proceed to a few other bus stops to drop them off. I have the number of people to be picked up and number of passengers dropping off at each bus stop. Now I need to provide a route based on two objectives: 1) shortest travel distance (to minimise operator's cost) 2) service quality (minimising the total in-vehicle travel time for passengers) I am currently stuck as the Vehicle Routing Problem solver doesn't seem to be suitable. May I check if there's any other tools in ArcMap that can provide a bi-objective routing analysis?

Hi Anthony Seems like I may have to regeoreference them. However, am I able to do so from the raster layer which is merged? Because the merged raster layer does not have any georeferenced information. Only the original raster images have them.
