Josh, Thanks for the reply, if figure there was some sort append coding options. But after looking over your code and searching the internet for other append/truncate python code it appears to be way beyond my Python coding capabilities. I'll keep working on it but for right now I'll just manually overwrite the feature service via ArcGIS Pro. I don't why they (ESRI) doesn't provide an append option in the menu, maybe in the future. Thanks for your help.

I have a strange problem when using python code to overwrite a feature service on our ArcGIS Online account. I created two point feature layers (fire hydrants data), one is for the fire department and another version with some fields removed (not visible) for the public. I can manually upload and/or share each feature layer to ArcGIS Online and even overwrite the feature services. The data looks fine and I can create webmaps with no problems. I then used Python code that we found on ESRI’s website to upload the feature layers. Below is a link to the discussion of the code that we use with no problems in other project for a few years now. https://community.esri.com/t5/python-questions/automate-overwrite-web-layer-feature-class/td-p/20067 The problem I’m having is after the automated Python code runs overnight, the attribute table for the “fire department” version is missing data. See the attached screen shot. The “public” version feature service attribute table’s data is visible. When I select Visualization option for the “fire department” feature layer (hosted), I do see points on a map but no data when I select a point. If I re-run the manual overwrite option within the ArcGIS Pro project, it corrects the problem and I can see the data in the attribute table. Any suggestions on where to the look? I'm planning to add a field that was removed for the "public" table one at time and run the python code until I see a failure. Thanks,

Sorry for the delay with an update, I was able to get the datasets updated. What I did was delete the old dataset folders and their contents, then re-create the empty dataset folders. And finally use the arcpy.management.CopyFeatures function for each feature layer in each dataset. It does take a long to run this update, but it does work so i will live with it. Thanks for all the suggestions!

Tried the export function, but it didn't work. Keeps giving me an error message about the folder(or file?) already existing. But it's not there when I click refresh in ArcCatalog. ERROR 000725: Output Feature Class: Dataset C:\Datafiles\GISPro_GeoDatabase\Local_Basemap.gdb\Administrative already exists. Failed to execute (ExportFeatures).

I'm trying to copy some feature layers from an SQL server to a file geodatabase on my C drive. The problem I'm running into is when there are some of the feature layers within a dataset on the server and I try to copy the file(s) to a dataset folder on the file geodatabase. I does working work when there are no dataset folders. It seems like the "arcpy.management.CopyFeatures()" function doesn't like working with datasets. I keep getting the following error message: ERROR 000354: The name contains invalid characters Failed to execute (CopyFeatures). Is there a different function for datasets? Thanks,

I just need a simple sript that will copy a feature layer and convert it to a shapefile with just a four of the original field names. I know how to do this manually but I need python script so it can automatically every morning. I tried arcpy.TableToTable_conversion and FeatureClassTo FeatureClass but can't seem to figure it out how to select only those field name that are required for my project. Thanks,

Has anyone use DLT (Data Loading Tools) to maintain the Utility Side | Customer Side Feature Layer (Hosted) in ArcGIS Online? I used the the Append with Transformation tool one time to upload our existing utility data to populate the fields and get things started. But now I'm wondering how to maintain the Feature Layer when there are updates in our utility data. I don't want to mistakenly overwrite changes made to the data in the feature layer as customers (and staff) validate data through the use of the Lead Service Line Inventory survey. Any ideas would be helpful! Thanks,

That works, thanks so much! I guess the Google instructions were out of date since it was showing the "Python" tab in the backstage in the Project Menu.

I'm trying to install Python Package Manager in ArcGIS Pro, I currently have version 3.0.2. I need access to Data Loading Tools but it appears to be missing and needs to be re-installed via Python Package Manager. In the attached picture from a Google search gave specific steps, I do not see "Python" as an option to click. Please see the second screen shot. Getting the run around from Google/ESRI searches and can't figure what to do next. I did have Data Loading Tools before, I suspect something happen after an update. Should I just re-install ArcGIS Pro? thanks,

Working with the Lead Service Line Inventory Solution along with ArcGIS Pro. Is there a good user manual available? I have uploaded over 140,000 records into the ServiceLine Feature Layer (hosted) within ArcGIS Online but all the points (meter locations) are grey for both the utility and customer side of the icons. I guess I'm missing a step here and the ESRI YouTube videos and webpages are vague and working with perfect data. Thanks,

I'm looking to create a tool or script using python that will list the selected records from a polygon feature layer after clicking a location. I will then use information from a specific field (file location) to import into the current map a TIF image or CAD DWG file. I'm new to python programing and I'm just looking for some suggestions on where to the start. Every time I think I have found a existing geoprocessing tool within ArcGIS Pro that I can copy python code into model builder or the python window it's just a dead-end. Any suggestions would be helpful...Thanks!

Hi Gregory, I just happen to be doing the same thing with an old ArcMap addin that added TIF images or CAD drawings to the map where to the utility work occurred. I was able to add a new field in the attribute table of the polygon source layer, that will bring up the image to a photo viewer. But the next step is to add the image to the map. Unfortunately I didn't write to ArcMap code and still learning Python. Did you ever get this process to work in ArcGIS Pro? Thanks, Greg Williams

I have been trying the Flood Impact tool for a few days now, but it appears I do not have all the required raster layers. What I do have is a DEM and DSM raster layers created from recent LiDAR data (LAS files). And I have a polygon feature of FEMA's flood zone AE. What I don't have is a depth raster feature. Is a DTM layer necessary? Just for my clarification, the depth raster's z values represents the depth from the water surface to river bottom or coastal land surface during flooding. And the perimeter of the raster feature indicates how far the flood waters inundates the land. Correct? Sorry I'm not hydrologist and I just want to make sure I understand what each layer represents. Thanks, Greg Williams
