Hi Tony Will try that one out soon. Thanks for the tip. Utilising the .amp on the device seems to work OK and I am managing to suck both the base and operational layers through. That's great as a starter. I really wish to store the .wmpk files on my web server and am having problems utilising cached basemap map services on the Juno SC. The .wmpk shows the raster basemap in \\mobile\content\projects etc but the Juno SC won't suck it through. The operational layers are all there and the basemap name is there in the layer visibility menu; but alas, no visible basemap on the screen. I have no more hair to pull out. So, I have resorted to exporting the map service layer cache using an extent FC to a local drive and copying this onto the Juno SC. This process seems to work OK too. I may stick with this latter system for now as I would like to utilise my current basemap map service caches with the Juno SC. No point in making new map services and caches for mobile projects. Will probably run a geoproc service to extract a local tiled cache based on an area of interest and copy this over to the Juno SC for the work. Thanks for your help nonetheless. Chris W

Hi Chris Further to this thread, I am having problems viewing my cached basemap on my Juno SC also. I can view my mobile project in windows mobile desktop OK so I know I have configured the project OK using the MPC. I have followed the advice of your link above and what Casey has found works, but cannot for the life of me view my basemap on the Juno and have run out of ideas. Operational layers are fine. I have copied the Layers folder for my basemap cache from the web server and dumped it into JunoSC>SD-MMCcard>My Documents>ArcGIS Mobile> where my mobile project folder sits as per the webhelp, downloaded the project from the server but still no joy. I also tried the exploded cache format but no joy. Exploding the cache at least proved to me that there were tiles in it. Any help greatly received and appreciated. It has taken me a while to get to this point and it's one small thing I am missing and then it's cracked. Regards Chris W

Hi all I am suffering with the below code to buffer some polylines using IBufferConstruction Is anyone able to help please ? I am trying to get to IBufferConstructionProps but with no buffering yet I'm not going anywhere fast. Thanks for any help - I'm really stumped. I get my new records into the cursor but no features. Chris pEditor.StartOperation dDist = 3 'InputBox("Buffer offset in meters(m)", "Buffer Offset......") l = 1 Do Until pFeature Is Nothing Application.StatusBar.Message(0) = "Buffering " & l & " of " & d Set inputPolyline = pFeature.ShapeCopy 'Set inputPolyline = pFeature.ShapeCopy Set pGeomColl = New GeometryBag pGeomColl.AddGeometry inputPolyline Set pEnumGeometry = pGeomColl pEnumGeometry.Reset 'MsgBox "Geometry Count: " & pGeomColl.GeometryCount Set pGeo = pEnumGeometry.Next i = 1 While Not pGeo Is Nothing 'MsgBox "Geometry: " & i & " Geometry type: " & pGeo.GeometryType Dim pBC As IBufferConstruction Set pBC = New BufferConstruction Dim pPolygon As IPolygon Set pPolygon = pBC.Buffer(pEnumGeometry, dDist) Set pNewFeature = pInsertFeatureBuffer Set pNewFeature.Shape = pPolygon q = pInsertFeatureCursor.InsertFeature(pInsertFeatureBuffer) 'Insert the feature into the feature cursor Set pNewFeature = pEditLayers.CurrentLayer.FeatureClass.CreateFeature Set pNewFeature.Shape = pPolygon pNewFeature.Store i = i + 1 Set pGeo = pEnumGeometry.Next Wend Set pFeature = pFeatureCursor.NextFeature l = l + 1 Loop

Hi All I am trying to display my field alias values in my flex enhanced AGS server website. Default appears to display the field headings over any alias values present. I have read a number of threads on this topic and some point to a code block I need to include and others suggest this is a bug with 9.3.1 and is to be fixed with SP1. I am running SP1. Is this a simple fix or do I need to start playing with code ? Cheers all Chris

Hi Can anyone out there see why I am getting records in the table but no geometries to match ? Do Until pFeature Is Nothing Application.StatusBar.Message(0) = "Buffering " & l & " of " & d Set inputPolyline = pFeature.ShapeCopy 'Set inputPolyline = pFeature.ShapeCopy Set pGeomColl = New GeometryBag pGeomColl.AddGeometry inputPolyline Set pEnumGeometry = pGeomColl pEnumGeometry.Reset 'MsgBox "Geometry Count: " & pGeomColl.GeometryCount Set pGeo = pEnumGeometry.Next i = 1 While Not pGeo Is Nothing 'MsgBox "Geometry: " & i & " Geometry type: " & pGeo.GeometryType Dim pBC As IBufferConstruction Set pBC = New BufferConstruction 'Dim pPolygon As IPolygon 'Set pPolygon = pBC.Buffer(pGeo, dDist) Set pOutGeomColl = New GeometryBag Dim pOutPoly As IPolygon Set pOutPoly = New Polygon pOutGeomColl.AddGeometry pOutPoly pBC.ConstructBuffers pEnumGeometry, dDist, pOutGeomColl Set pNewFeature = pInsertFeatureBuffer Set pNewFeature.Shape = pOutPoly q = pInsertFeatureCursor.InsertFeature(pInsertFeatureBuffer) 'Insert the feature into the feature cursor i = i + 1 Set pGeo = pEnumGeometry.Next Wend Set pFeature = pFeatureCursor.NextFeature l = l + 1 Loop Thanks Chris

Hi all I nearly have my buffers using IBufferConstruction. Using the code attached I am able to place the records in the table but NOT see the associated geometries, and of course I don't know why. The offending code is in the Do Until loop where I take the enumerated feature and try to pass this, with a buffer distance into the bufferconstruction method. I'm not sure if my use of the GeometryCollection output is correct. Using ITopologicalOperator works fine and is commented out because I wish to eventually get to IBufferConstructionProps. Appreciate any help. I just need someone to see what I'm not. Thanks Chris

Hi Alexander Thanks for replying. I have not tried what you suggest as yet. I am trying to get my selected features into a geometry collection at the moment so that I can enumerate through them and pass each feature as input into the IBufferConstruction. Theoretically easy enough. Regards Chris

Ladies and Gents This is what I am briefly trying to do. Buffer polylines using IBufferConstruction and IBufferConstructionProperties because I want to obtain mitred (flat) ends to the buffers. I would also like to parse in a field value as the buffer distance. I have got so far as to use the ITopologicalOperator but I am really struggling with a link to the IEnumGeometry and IGeometryCollection in the code. I have got to a point where I don't know what's what anymore. I have been calling the module from my ThisDocument module using a UI button and passing in the buffer distance using an inputbox. I hope someone can help me continue on. I am doing this because my highest licence seat is Editor. Thank you Chris New Zealand

Hi All, Simple really (in concept). I have an open edit session and I close it saving edits or not. When the edit session closes I want a number of command bars to remove / hide themselves (e.g. the editor, ETGeoTools & Advanced editing toolbars). This is easy enough to code in a VBA module but I am having problems referencing the code to the built-in editor command item. I have dabbled with the ArcID module with no joy. Using: IEditor ICommandBars ICommandBar ICommandItem Thanks for any assistance. Chris
