After some trial and error, it appears that creating new features in the web map editor is driven by the feature symbology used when the layer is published. Tip: publish web layers with basic symobolgy if you require freedom with online feature editing/creation.

Hello, We have a streetlight feature layer that I would like to collaborate updates on. However, when attempting to edit/create a new streetlight feature the tool is forcing you to select a attribute first. In this case it is the "district", pulling from the existing data and not allowing for creation of a new streetlight without any associated district. I have made sure that the settings allow null values, are editable, and do not have a default value for the field in question. I also notice that certain roles or user types are able to add the layer with "full editing control" in map viewer classic as a work around but can determine why this is happening. Hopefully I am missing something simple. Thanks, Matt

Hey Kory Kramer, I was able to get the table frame to match the Map series using the above mentioned method of joining the source table to the indexing layer. It took an extra step for me, I hade a 'many to one' style join so I had to first copy the layer and use the copied over layer for the table as not to alter other dynamic index related text on the layout, ie: page titles etc. Thanks! Matt

I too am having the same problem trying to add a table to a map series layout. Selecting to query "Map series rows" in the element properties does not work either. Also just tried dynamic text - attributes, no deal. running Pro 2.7.0 Please fix!

Has anyone broke down the pro's and con's of the different options for adding a layer form file? With the perspective of a free/public account, the options include: Zipped Shapefile, .csv or .txt, GPX, GeoJson. - Zipped Shapefile this seems to be my default choice but kind of assumes you have a way to create a shapefile and adds extra steps for processing updates. It would be nice option for ArcPRO to export shapefiles directly to zipped folder. - .csv or .txt Seems like a great option for creating data from scratch using the provided story-map templates, also good if you're not using desktop software (PRO or other) - GPX Seems like the obvious choice if you have data from a GPS, not sure why you would use this otherwise. not even sure you can convert non-gps sourced data to GPX? - GeoJson This seems similar .csv/.txt but am unfamiliar so mostly would like a comparison between these two options. I am looking for which option is the best/easiest for updating data either using online, desktop ESRI, or non ESRI file format. I am also looking for which option is the best for sharing the data with others, or having the ability to export the data/file from online. Apologies if this has been covered elsewhere but i could not find any other discussions. Thanks, M.Catanzarite Ann Arbor,MI

Yes, thanks. After 2.3 upgrade I have been successfully generating genuine random color schemes.

I am hopeful. I am still having this issue also. Happens roughly two times a year when classifying unique values (neighborhood tax rolls) with random color scheme... there is no variation, always comes up with mono chromatic scales.

It is a double. I just ended up transposing the data to new text fields as a workaround.

I've tried a variety of different ways to display these labels as they should but always have a few that defy my efforts! does anyone else have this problem? tried: - calculating field using round expression - formatting fields in table/field view - manually entering the numbers in the attribute editor "9.45" - and lastly arcade label expression

Unfortunately that did not provide different outcome, but I am satisfied with the Layer file export from ArcMap for now.

Thanks! This is actually is a workable solution that I was working towards. After some trial and error, it seems only this layer has the issues mentioned but others that I use the random color scheme for turn out fine, however doesn't explain why it looks good in ArcMap and not ArcPro.

Thanks again, you might on to something Dan with the colors being alphabetically assigned. I've tried the to replicate the exact setting you have Robert but am not getting the mix your getting : (. even in your example while the colors are spread out better, there isn't that much variety, some next to each other look very similar (lowland broad-leaf).

Thanks, Dan - it's definitely the random one which is why it is strange that I'm having trouble getting a diverse variety of colors. Robert - I have tried that as well and can't seem to get anything better. It seems as if in ArcMap there was a better color-method that followed a 4 or 5 color theorem. I am surprised that i wasn't able to find anyone else with a similar problem. Does "Basic Random" do a better job for anyone else? in my case there are 83 unique values(neighborhoods). I am trying to replicate the automated random color symbology in ArcMap for tax neighborhoods but ArcPro tends to group unique values together (or use only about 6 different colors) defeating the point of unique value symbolization... is there a work around? See screen shots for exact example ArcMap: ArcPro

Thanks for the the workaround clarification. I would like to know if there are any updates to the PDF export engine allowing text edits in in the resulting document.
