Thanks @GeoJosh for this update. Good to hear that 2024.0 will support a programmatically installation and configuration of an agent. Parallel to this the support with PowerShell DSC would be desirable too - so that the complete Esri stack can be installed in this way.

Thanks @GeoJosh for pointing to the documentation for a silent installtion. If I understand this documentation correctly, I can - for example - install an agent (ArcGIS Monitor Agent feature) silently. But I cannot configure this agent silently (the remote Agent needs the URL of the Monitor Server and a account/pw to connect after the installation).

In a large IT environment, it should be possible to fully automate both the installation and configuration of software (infrastructure as a code). Currently, such a fully automated installation and configuration of ArcGIS Monitor including remote ArcGIS Monitor Agents is not possible. This could be done with a REST admin interface or support through ArcGIS Powershell DSC. Use cases: new installation from scratch, staging the config to another environment, upgrading monitor and remote agents to a new version

We had a similar problem after upgrading from 2023.3. to 2023.3.1 and therefore opened a support case with Esri. The analysis showed that the .env file had completely incorrect content after the upgrade, so that the service could no longer start properly. We took an old .env file from a backup (version 2023.3) and replaced the corrupt file with it. According to the Esri support, there is no schema change in the .env file between 2023.3 and 2023.3.1 so this should be - hopefully - a clean fix.

This is a important requirement for us too. Especially in a large environment it should be possible to use the same single sign-on process for the ArcGIS Monitor as defined on the ArcGIS Portal (SAML or in our case OAuth/Open ID Connect). The people who use ArcGIS Monitor are all licenced under the ArcGIS user type model.

We have recently upgraded to ArcGIS Monitor 2023.3. Since then, the url link in the email notifications does not seem to work anymore. These links in the email point to https://myserver.com/arcgis/monitor/alerts/<alert number> When opening this link, ArcGIS Monitor automatically forwards to https://myserver.com/arcgis/monitor/alerts/<alert number>/overview This is no longer working in 2023.3. The forward leads now to https://myserver.com/arcgis/monitor/alerts/:alertid/overview - resulting in an error. Is this a already known bug that may be fixed in the 2023.3.1 patch?

No solution for an automatic labelling but maybe a workaround: Set 1 label only on the ArcGIS Server component itself ("Dev-Stage"). Create a collection for this label and activate "Including Children". This way, all future services published on this ArcGIS Server will automatically be included in this collection.

I have opened a support call and tried to isolate the problem together with Esri support. It is quite difficult because it is not easy to reproduce. With the adjustment of the time interval for the observers it has improved for a while - however, the problem was not solved in the end. My next plan is to install an additional ArcGIS Monitor Agent locally on the GeoEvent Server - hoping that this will reduce connection timeouts and authentication problems.

I have the same behaviour and cannot download the ExcelReport.zip. Please make the file public accessible like the recent new version of the ArcSOC Optimizer.

Especially in larger environments only the AD is allowed as an identity store for user authentication for security reasons and no additional local identity store.

Hi @DerekLaw Thanks for the quick respond and the link to the older discussion I've missed. Will those missing hosted services metrics be part in the 2023.1 release of the Monitor coming soon?

We have successfully registered an ArcGIS Server component in ArcGIS Monitor (AGM) 2023.0 for the ArcGIS Server which is used by our portal as a hosting server (portal and hosting server are running on seperate machines). In the AGM catalog for this component I find all services with referenced data automatically listed, geocoding + geoprocessing services too - but none of the various hosted services, which are actually running on it. Are hosted services not recognized by the current ArcGIS Monitor?

We're monitoring three ArcGIS GeoEvent Servers with ArcGIS Monitor 2023.0 since several weeks and are experiencing the following strange behaviour: the registered component (Type "ArcGIS GeoEvent Server") is disappearing in ArcGIS Monitor regulary (although the GeoEvent Servers are still running indeed). . We noticed two different scenarios (the observers are set to 15 minutes for Discover and Metrics): The GeoEvent Server component disappears and reappears 15 minutes later (occurs approx. 1 time a day) The GeoEvent Server component disappears continuous. Only after a restart of the "ArcGIS Monitor Server"-Service it reappears again (occurs approx. 1 time a week) It's difficult to recognize any pattern. Sometimes only 1 of our 3 GeoEvent Server is affected, sometimes all 3 at the same time. The point in time seems randomly distributed over the whole day. It seems that the monitoring process is somehow not "robust" enough for any potentially temporarily network issues/timeouts. We've monitored those GeoEvent Server already with the old ArcGIS Monitor 10.8 - not having any similar problems. Logs entries for scenario 1: At the time of disappearing I found those entries for the observer of the ArcGIS GeoEvent Warning with Code ETIMEDOUT and Message "Run failed." Severe with Code null and Message "["Timeout awaiting 'lookup' for 200ms"]" Logs entries for scenario 2: At the time of disappearing I found those entries for the observers of the ArcGIS GeoEvent Warning with Code null and Message "Run failed." Severe with Code null and Message " ["Response code 403 (Forbidden)"] " After restarting the "ArcGIS Monitor Server"-Service - without having changed anything in the configuration! - the components are reappearing again. Has anybody seen any similar behaviour? Is it possible to increase the waiting timeouts for the observers?

Hi Joey Thanks for the quick respond and the hint for this existing bug. As you already pointed out, the process of setting manually a label to each item is really tedious (especially in a big environment with hundreds of services). So this bug especially in combination with the current missing support for bulk-applying labels is rather painful. The workaround with "internal Address" contains {basel_url}" works at least for ArcGIS Server services - not for Services/Connectors within a ArcGIS GeoEvent Server => those items seem to have an itemid instead of an url in their address). Hopefully this bug will be fixed soon.
