Thanks Manish. Yes, inspecting the element did help ... as you can see somewhere in html that is rendered for the widget there is a span with inner html 'Home'. I will have to inspect the widget's default styling to see what is done to hide it. In the mean time I have just set the font colour of my home class to transparent. Bit of a hack, but will work for now. Terry

I have added a HomeButton to my map, but want to use custom styling to make it look more like the zoom widget. I have got it working ... except for the fact that the word 'Home' now appears over the button. What am I missing? This is the javascript to add the HomeButton: this.homebutton = new Homebutton({
map: this.map, visible: true, theme: "homeButton", extent: new esri.geometry.Extent(config.initialExtent) }, "homeButtonDijit");
this.homebutton.startup();
This is the CSS: /*home button custom styling*/ .homeButton { -moz-user-select: none; background-color: #FFFFFF; border: 2px solid #666666; border-radius: 5px 5px 5px 5px; cursor: pointer; padding: 7px; } /*class for the home button*/ .homeButton .home { background-image: url("../images/home.png"); width:16px; height:16px; background-color: white; } /*Containing class for the widget's node*/ .homeButton .homeContainer { border:none; } /*Class put onto the home button while the home extent is loading*/ .homeButton .loading { background-image: url("../images/loading.png"); width:16px; height:16px; }

I have created a silverlight viewer that has the 'show only layers visible at current scale' setting checked but when the map first loads all layers are visible in the Map Contents. It is only once the user has zoomed in or out for the first time that the layers not visible at that scale disappear.

I am trying to deploy a simple 10.1 SOE on a machine running Windows Server 2008 R2. Going through the motions in arcgis server manager, I browse to the SOE and click on the Add button, but nothing happens. In the logs I have found the following message: javax.servlet.ServletException: javax.servlet.ServletException: javax.servlet.ServletException: javax.servlet.ServletException: org.apache.jasper.JasperException: javax.servlet.ServletException: java.lang.ClassFormatError: Incompatible magic value 791625278 in class file org/apache/jsp/www/common/header_jsp Any ideas as to what may be causing this issue? I can successfully deploy and use the SOE on my dev machine and I have been able to deploy an SOE to server in the past. Since encountering the current problem i have even tried deploying the MarkerLocator sample SOE provided by esri to test if it was a problem specific to my SOE, but with the same result.

Hi, I am trying to develop an extension for ArcGIS mobile (Windows/WPF) that will allow the capturing and saving of a signature. I have looked at the sample extension for custom attributes that shows how to use custom datatemplates for the EditFeatureAttributesPage and ViewFeatureAttributesPage, but what I really need is an example of how to create a custom EditAttributePage. Anyone have any experience with this? Terry

I am busy testing the parcel fabic and there are a few aspects of it that I am specifically interested in, one of them being the recording of lineage between parent and child parcels. From what I have read, this is stored in the PARCELFABRIC_HISTORY table in an SDE database. Now, for my testing I have set up a personal SDE database in SQL server express ... but I am not seeing any information being recorded in this table when I create new parcels by merging or splitting existing parcels. So, I guess my question is, is there any special/specific procedure that needs to be follows to ensure that the lineage is recorded in the PARCELFABRIC_HISTORY table?
