"By default, a synchronous geoprocessing task is created when ArcGIS Server is installed and initially configured. This means that no other work is required on ArcGIS Server to enable using the PrintTask" This was not installed by default for me and this is the part I could not figure out. All of the documentation regarding setup I see involves the task already being created on a 10.1> version.

I am running ArcServer 10.0 with Flexviewer 3.6 using the print widget. Any time I enable Print with ArcGIS server I get errors that there is no GP service and there isn't. My problem is I can't find any documentation about creating a GP service for a print task for 10.0 only 10.1 and greater. Can anyone walk me through this? I get to the part of selecting create new geoprocessing service and then "The tools exposed by the Geoprocessing service are stored in: " and do I choose synchronous or asychronous? Thanks

Yeah I was using wgs84_1984_1 and it still didnt work. Oddly enough, leaving the data frame and source data as NAD83 publishes directly to the server fine. Still haven't tracked down why this is (whether the transformation is being applied server side), but for now publishing with the dataframe set at NAD83 (along with the feature classes) seems to have the transformation being applied. Thanks Jen (small world!)

Hey guys, I have a bunch of data in NAD83 I'd like to project on our web mapping service. I have followed the documentation here ArcGIS Online moving to Google / Bing tiling scheme: What does this mean for you? | ArcGIS Blog My data frame is set to WGS84 Web Mercator, I have the caching settings in ArcServer telling it to use bing/google tiling. The problem I am having is even after clearing rest cache and publishing to the webserver this is the result http://i.imgur.com/tl9vf3L.png The purple is the actual data, when I click on an entry in the attribute table at the bottom, it highlights in yellow. The purple is not being projected properly, but the yellow highlight seems to be bang on. Any idea how to get the purple to act more like the yellow highlight or what could be causing this? You can see from the ortho where the pipes should be. Thanks

Thanks I believe I did try this. DefaultAppPool seems to be the account associated with our web services application pool but I am still getting the error after recycling.

Hey guys, I have a limited understanding of ArcGIS Server and Flex Viewer but am making it work. I had everything set up on our new server somewhat working fine. We had someone remote into the new box to set up some other stuff (contractor no longer working for us) and now things seem to have stopped working. For starts, when i try to open the Server manager I get this error instead Sorry... http://gisserver/ArcGIS/Manager/login.aspx?ReturnUrl=/ArcGIS/Manager/default.aspx, Unable to generate a temporary class (result=1). error CS2001: Source file 'C:\Windows\TEMP\2bwqydb-.0.cs' could not be found error CS2008: No inputs specified For more details, check the Windows Event Log (Application Log) on the web server. My googling led me to believe this was an ASP issue. I have ASP installed, I tried using aspnet_regiss and registered NETWORK SERVICE, ARCGISSOC, etc still to no avail. Any idea what is causing this? They all have write/read permissions on C:\Windows\Temp as well... Thanks. This is the error from event viewer Event code: 3005 Event message: An unhandled exception has occurred. Thanks for the help, that did the trick. I am reading through the flex documentation at the moment. The operational layers (custom layers i've added from our geodatabase) seem to be drawing/refreshing fairly slowly. I don't know whether its the computer that is the bottleneck (it is an older machine) or whether there is anything I can configure or do to speed up the drawing/refresh speed. Thanks

Hey guys, kind of confused here. Taking over the webmapping from an old employee. There are services that have been published under c:\arcgisserver\arcgisinput\ (eg c:\arcgisserver\arcgisinput\StoreWebAnno.MapServer\StoreWebAnno.msd ) I made a mxd with a feature class to publish and add, except the only way I could get it to publish it in the shared dir \\win-1ffdvad32\Published\ (eg \\win-1ffdvad32\Published\StoreWebLive.msd). Ok fine, it works, it says it is published and started, but when I open Flex Viewer app and go to operational layers i do not see my newly published service. If i go to http://192.168.0.61/TestboxGIS/rest/services I don't see the new published service there either. Is there a way to refresh it or did I publish this incorrectly? Thanks
