It was the first thing I tried. However, i'll try to recreate what has happened whenever i'm going to work on it again.

Thanks for the reply. I made an error. There is no MXD involved. It's an aprx. file. Indeed saving often would work. However, as soon as I get into hyperfocus saving wont be on my mind. Unfortunately. We need an autosave function that saves every 5 minutes, keeps the last 5 files that are 60 mins apart. 300GB of space is on the disk the file is on. It's free space. 300gb out of 1000gb. The disk arcgis pro is on has only 18gb of free space though. Also an SSD. Could that be an issue?

Not sure if it's a coincidence but as soon as I pressed windows+M the application crashed. So great. A few hours of work gone.

300GB space on SSD, Total of 12 GB ram. That shouldn't be the issue. It's not a recurring problem. I hope. MXD is somewhat new. I started working on the project a while ago and an update happened since. I just want to save my data.

After a few hours of monotonous work while preparing everything for a layout export the application suddenly decided to 'hang'. I can not click anywhere in the application. No buttons work, no sign of interaction except for the placement guides in the layout view. Those move, or rather, moved with my mouse since after a short while I can't even get the application in view. In task manager there is no 'not responding' message and cpu usage is varying between 0 and a few %. With about 1.6gb of ram used, as expected for this project. The problem occured upon releasing left click while placing a new legend item. Luckily this is no basic functionality. I'm using up to date ArcGIS Pro on an up to date W10 system. Is there any way to save the data and work done on the project since the last save? I know I should save every few minutes. I just forgot. If I open the project again it opens in read-only (thus indicating that it's still open and active) and it's reverted to the last save. If only there were an autosave Thanks, Thom

Dear Community, I have one layer with 8.5k points scattered throughout the netherlands. Of these points I need to find the ones that are within 4 meters of eachoter. I tried doing this by using 'Near' and by generating a near table. However, the only result I get in the 'NEAR_DIST' column is 0. I am guessing the tool finds the closest match of the comparing layer but since the input layer and the near features layer are the same it finds the same point. Is there another tool I am missing? Specificaly designed for comparing distance within the same layer? Search radius = 10000000 meters, maximum of 5 closest matches. Yet, only a NEAR_DIST of 0...

Thanks all! Problem is resolved. Apparently, since I was using a Join, I had to specify the table name in the expression. So no !W5! but !Database.W5!

Thanks dan, The used expression and code is in my opening post. I updated it. It has the same amount of variabels in the code as I have fields in the expression. (so same amount of ,)

Thanks to the people above I finally know how to properly use fields in the code block. Unfortunately I still get an error message. This time it gives the following error: ERROR 000539: File "<expression>", line 1
calc(, , , , , , , , , , , , , , )
^
SyntaxError: invalid syntax
Failed to execute (CalculateField).

Hello Community, I'm completely at a lost here. I have tried all possible combinations and was trying to figure out how to get this to work but it just doesn't work for me. The thing I am trying to accomplish is the following: I have 5 fields with a or b answers (1 or 0) and 5 fields with the correct solution. (also 1 or 0). Q1-5 and A1-5. I also have 5 fields with a Weight W1-5. I am trying to find a floating value of 0-1 based on the answer. This goes in the field Betrouwbaarheid This is what I have so far, which is to you very clearly incorrect. But I have tried a lot of different types of formatting without avail. Note: It's updated! Expression:
calc(!Q1!, !Q2!, !Q3!, !Q4!, !Q5!, !A1!, !A2!, !A3!, !A4!, !A5!, !W1!, !W2!, !W3!, !W4!, !W5)
Code block:
def calc(Q1, Q2, Q3, Q4, Q5, A1, A2, A3, A4, A5, W1, W2, W3, W4, W5):
if Q1 == A1:
c1 = 1
else:
c1 = 0
if Q2 == A2:
c2 = 1
else:
c2 = 0
if Q3 == A3:
c3 = 1
else:
c3 = 0
if Q4 == A4:
c4 = 1
else:
c4 = 0
if Q5 == A5:
c5 = 1
else:
c5 = 0
betr = (c1 * W1 + c2 * W2 + c3 * W3 + c4 * W4 + c5 * W5) / (W1 + W2 + W3 + W4 + W5)
return betr Thanks to the people below a part was resolved. My new code gives no syntax errors. However, i still get an error when trying to do a field calculation. ERROR 000539: File "<expression>", line 1
calc(, , , , , , , , , , , , , , )
^
SyntaxError: invalid syntax
Failed to execute (CalculateField). I hope anyone can shed me some light into how this codeblock programming works. It's a complete and utter mystery to me.
