Hi, In my project, I apply a different set of rules according to the Street Type (Major and Minor). They have different colors, heights, number of lanes, ... How to manage Roundabout, RoundaboutEntry, Junction, JunctionEntry and Joints in order to automatically adapt their layout according to the Type of connected Streets. For instance, a Junction with 2 Major Streets and 2 Minor Streets will look different than a Junction with 4 Minor Streets, which will be different than a Junction made of 4 Major Streets... How to build a rule which is able for each object, to adapt its behavior according to neighboring objects properties. Thx. Thibault

Hi Tim, Thanks for your reply. I have read these pages and yes, it seems census data are used by the GeoEnrichment analysis service. But I think a clear reference to the data producer is needed for this tool to be reliable and really useful. Any information I have missed out ? Thanks Thibault

I have the same problem, and it seems that the "align graph to terrain" processing only aligns junctions to the terrain, not shapes (this needs to be confirmed). So, if this is true, in many situations, the terrain will overlay the street networks.

It works great, your version of the code is shorter and clearer (I struggled to get the translation right in the previous code I used). Thanks again for your quick reply. -- Thibault

I am trying your code Matthias, but I don't understand where to put the code ? If I add it to a rule in my cga file I get an error "No Viable Alt (satelliteImage)". If I add it to the "Layer Attributes" of the "Lot" Layer (in my base "Building" Layer) I get 2 erros. The code I found is to be used in a CGA file. It looks like that in mine : version "2012.1"
const terrain_dimension_x = 2195.5
const terrain_dimension_z = 2034.5
const terrain_offset_x = 711075.750
const terrain_offset_z = -6654980.750
attr HAUTEUR = 0 #Mapped to an object attribute imported from the file GDB
@StartRule
Building -->
extrude(HAUTEUR)
comp(f) { top : Roof | side : Facade }
Roof -->
setupProjection(0, world.xz, terrain_dimension_x, terrain_dimension_z)
set(material.colormap, "texture/ortho16s.tif")
projectUV(0)
translateUV(0, -terrain_offset_x /terrain_dimension_x, -terrain_offset_z /terrain_dimension_z)
scaleUV(0, 1, -1)
Facade --> ...

Thanks Matthias, It works as you described it. In my case I had to : Select all shapes in my Streetnetwork In the Cityengine main menu, click "Graph" Select "Reset Shape Attributes" I have tried with a fresh new import from a file GDB and your scenario works well. For other begginers like me, may I had one step in between steps 3 and 4 : On the "Set Start Rule" window, choose "Skip" The help page about this topic. After setting the rules properly, I guess for the generation to be error free, all the default start rules must be defined : Street Sidewalk Crossing Junction JunctionEntry Thibault

Hi, I have a CGA file named "street.cga" with 2 rules : @StartRule
Road --> ...
@StartRule
Sidewalk --> ... I imported polyline shapes from a file GDB representing my streets. In my Streetnetwork , in one shape, I manually select the road (the middle part) and apply the "street.cga" rule and assign the "Road" starting rule. I manually select both sidewalks (both part on the road side) and I apply the "street.cga" rule and assign the starting rule "Sidewalk". I have the expected result for one shape of my Streetnetwork. But I have 600 shapes and I would like to find a way to automatically select the road or the sidewalk and apply the related starting rule. I can't figure out how to do this automatically. I have tried with split and comp, but without success. Do you have any idea how to do this ? Thank you.
