Hi, I just upgraded ArcGIS Enterprise (in Azure cloud server) from 10.5 to 10.5.1 ... ArcGIS Pro was working fine before connecting to same ArcGIS Portal for license. After this upgrade ... ArcGIS Pro vanishes / crashes after launching ArcGIS Pro and Sign-In to Portal. The Named User license and counts are OK ... the License Manager is located on another Azure cloud server. Its the same portal configuration file used to link ArcGIS Portal with the License Manager before. Telnet between both servers on port 27002 working fine. Assigning licenses in My Organization > Manage License > Users all look correct. I heard ArcGIS Pro vanishing is if ArcGIS Portal cannot communicate with License Manager. Is there any log ... can't catch error messages ... it just vanishes. Please help.

Hi, I also have this problem upgrading from 10.5 to 10.5.1 - Data Store for Managed is not validating (only Tile). How did you fix this? Without Data Store validated for both Managed and Tile ... you can't Federate ArcGIS Server with Portal.

Hi, after upgrading ArcGIS Enterprise 10.5 to 10.5.1 for all products (Portal, Server and Data Store) ... the existing ArcGIS Server web services cannot be accessed (see attached). I can successfully Federate ArcGIS Portal with ArcGIS Server and validate Data Store without issues. ArcGIS Enterprise is installed on Azure cloud servers. Please help. Thanks.

Hi everyone ... hope someone can guide me ... really don't know what else to do. I've installed and configured ArcGIS Portal + Web Adaptor + ArcGIS Server (all 10.5) on Azure cloud servers (after many painful steps with web adaptor). When trying to publish map services from ArcGIS Desktop and ArcGIS Pro into ArcGIS Portal ... I got errors. After that everything went bad. Issue 1 - Cannot remove Federated ArcGIS Servers in Portal Admin - Failed to unfederate server 'xxx'. java.net.ConnectException: Connection timed out: connect Issue 2 - Based on some forum users ... tried to run UnRegister Server unsuccesfully with https://machine name.domain/portal/sharing/rest/portals/self HTTP ERROR 500 Internal Server Error Issue 3 – After step 1 & 2 ... now Edit Settings greyed out in ArcGIS Portal Please see attachments. I wonder if there is a script or internal database I can cleanup / reset all these settings. Thanks so much.

Thanks for the replies. Sorry but I do need a bit more clarification: 1. Dojo vs Bootstrap for frontend dev - after dabbling I notice the development with bootstrap much faster, better documentation and caters for various devices display better (from an overall web application perspective, not just for a web map app). Dojo has many widgets with great custom tools (like graphs, info boxes) that helps with the overall web map app) but doesn't really work with overall web application ... incl frameworks and web applications like Angular ... that well (unlike Bootstrap). Am just trying to quickly dev a web app (incl data with XY or geocoding attributes) with an embedded map app (with some basic GIS functions). 2. Can I map, grid, annotate, classify and geocode points on a JS web map app without having to purchase ArcGIS Server (using free ArcGIS Online webservices and free ESRI JS API)?? If I have a JS web map app built with basic global layers ... what are the free GIS analysis and geoprocessing tools I can consume and use (i.e. read from a table with XY or address column and map it)? Much appreciate any feedback and advice. Am trying to avoid issues later on in the development stage.

Questions for those with good ESRI JS web development experience: 1. JS build systems - grunt or gulp? 2. is bootstrap still the best frontend page dev for multiple devices ? 3. Sass or Less?? 4. framework - backbone, angular, react or ember?? 5. need for dependency management (i.e. browserify)?? 6. why node.js? 7. mongoDB vs MySQL? 8. best IDE for all the above javascript web development? 9. can I use ESRI Javascript API and build apps and analysis for free?? Thanks so much for your guidance and sharing.

Hi, if I reference the ESRI Javascript API ... is it possible to add and view some points (i.e. drag and drop text file) in a map and then run some basic GIS analysis - i.e. density, buffers, convert to line / polygon, basic topology checks. I would like to use this as a free service. Is this possible? The basemap would reference an existing ArcGIS online free map. Thanks ...

Hi, when a Desktop GIS user (ArcGIS Pro or ArcMap) consumes a Geoprocessing webservices (webservices created in Python): 1. does local GIS data (sitting on the desktop machines) get pushed to server? how to configure Geoprocessing to run locally and results kept local too. 2. how to prevent desktop users from deciphering the python code if the whole toolbox gets downloaded from web services? 3. use local machine CPU to run geoprocessing services and not overload the server Thanks.

Hi, can we develop custom apps with ArcGIS Pro SDK in .NET and then call its methods / functions from Python (as a geoprocessing function)? Then if we publish the Python geoprocessing in ArcGIS Server will it still work (calling the ArcGIS Pro SDK codes)?
