Thank you for the workaround. I will try it. I am still confused why the decimal point is available on the exact same android devices while using Classic Collector.

Thank you for your reply. The more I think about this, the more feature layer views seem designed only for applying various filters to your data and not for having multiple copies of the same features with different symbologies. Having multiple views related to the underlying dataset even offline would multiple symbologies for the same data much more useful. Currently, feature layer views are not as useful for data collection as they could be. I have logged my idea here: https://community.esri.com/ideas/18638 for anybody is interested, please upvote it.

The blog post https://www.esri.com/arcgis-blog/products/collector/field-mobility/same-layer-offline-twice-collector-feature-layer-view… shows how to take the same feature layer offline in Collector more than once with different filters or symbology. The blog post even states that "changes made in one layer are reflected across all the layers." In practice, if an attribute in one feature layer view is edited, the changes are not reflected in the other feature layer view (or the underlying feature layer) until the offline map is sync'd with AGOL or the Enterprise Portal. It seems that Collector is treating each feature layer view as an individual dataset while offline, and only making changes to related/underlying feature layers when the map is online again (during a sync). The concept of having views of the feature layer would be much more useful if Collector would continue to treat the feature layer views as still related to a single underlying database while offline. As an example, say a user wants point data symbolized by Field A, but also wants another copy symbolized by Field B, and would like to be able to turn on/off these symbolizations, and to edit the point features offline. Creating two feature layer views and making different symbology for each is straightforward. When taken offline, if a new feature is made in the first feature layer view and both Field A and Field B are populated with values, the other feature layer view should instantly symbolize this new point correctly. But the Collector app does not treat the two feature layer views as related until after a sync occurs, so the point is only visible in one of the feature layer views (the edited one) for the remainder of the offline session. For field workers who are out for hours or all day between syncing, the other feature layer view and symbology is not currently useful because of this behaviour.

yes, I have made offline changes to the feature layer and the feature layer view does change after a sync. In a perfect world, I think a view of the data would still be related to the underlying data when it is taken offline, but I am sure in practice it is harder to program it that way. I made my view not editable, but I wonder what would happen if the view were editable and the view and the feature layer were both edited in the same offline session. I imagine whichever edit was more recent would be kept. Thanks for your response Colin.

I have a few double precision fields in my webmap and I have configured the popup in the webmap for 2 decimal places. In Collector on android devices, the keypad that pops up while filling in the double attribute fields does not have a decimal point, so it is not useful. The problem did not exist in the Classic Collector app. Is there another way to set up the desired keypad in Collector? Do I need to switch back to Classic Collector app? There was another question about this topic during beta testing, but there was no answer there: https://community.esri.com/thread/241851-when-editing-an-assets-numeric-field-with-collector-beta-1910-the-keyboard-does-not-give-an-option-to-insert-a-decimal-point Thanks, Travis

Hello, I have a point feature layer in a webmap that I will use in Collector this summer to collect geologic data. The feature layer has 4 templates to collect based on rock type: metamorphic, sedimentary, volcanic, plutonic. After a point has been created there is a domain list of map unit. I want my field workers to be able to see the points symbolized by the 4 simple rock types or by map unit. I created a hosted feature layer view from the points layer and changed the symbology of it to map units and then added this to the webmap. So in Collector there are 2 layers, rock_station (the hosted feature layer) and rock_station_map_unit (the view). The feature layer is set to editable. I have the view set to sync but not editable. When I look at the map in Collector and I edit attributes in rock_station or move a point, the hosted feature layer view also updates or moves, but only when I leave the map and then return. This is almost what I want. When I download the map in Collector and I edit the attributes offline in rock_station or move a point, the hosted feature layer view does not update symbology of move to match the edits. This is obviously not what I want. The edits don't get updated in the view until I sync the data to the portal, which is at the end of an entire day of fieldwork. Is it possible to get the view to update with the underlying feature layer in offline mode in Collector? I have tried both Collector Classic and new Collector and they both seem to be the same unwanted behavior. Thanks, Travis

Is it possible to have a hosted feature layer and a hosted feature layer view (or two different hosted feature layer views as children of the same data) in two different web maps and allow them both to be downloaded in Collector for offline use? Some of my field workers would like different feature templates for data collection in the field. We are always working places without internet during the work day and sync in the evening, so we need offline downloads in Collector. Layer views seem like a good work around, but Collector won't download the web map I made with the layer view. The web map with the hosted feature layer works to download in Collector and is set up to create/update/sync. Thanks.

I can't seem to get images to attach here. Basically I have polygons of geologic units that are all touching (with no overlap), and I want to be able to move shared polygon boundaries, but where three polygons come together the shared edge is split at the triple-junction. In ArcMap I could select shared edges on both sides of a three way junction by holding SHIFT, then I could use the reshape tool to reshape the edge of a polygon across the triple-junction (which ArcMap would automatically move, usually in a satisfactory way). In Pro, there is no Topology Edit selection tool, the Reshape tool first selects with a click and then right away starts reshaping, but doesn't let the user further select adjoining shared edges. I will keep trying to attach a screen shot. Thanks.

In ArcMap, it is possible to select multiple shared polygon edges with the Topology Edit Tool by holding SHIFT and clicking multiple edges. This is especially useful when editing the edge of a polygon that shared edges with two other polygons. In ArcGIS Pro, it only seems possible to select a single shared edge before using the Reshape tool (or other tools, e.g. Vertices). I tried holding SHIFT, and it does not work the same as in ArcMap. Is there a different method for selecting multiple topology edges while editing? Additionally, is it possible to select a topology edge and have it stay selected after using an editing tool? If I want to reshape the edge and then reshape another part of the same edge, currently I have to reselect the edge each time I want to reshape it, but maybe there is a way to keep it selected between editing actions. Any help with that? Thanks.
