Using "<" and ">" values in features Hi - I have built a process for managing Bathing Water quality monitoring that starts with seawater sample collection using Survey123, is added to in Experience Builder before displaying on a live website. Part of the data is determining the levels of E Coli in the waters either from wildlife or other sources of pollution. levels for Escherichia coli and Intestinal enterococci are are measured in units of cfu/100ml however the lowest resolution values possible are <10 and < 3 cfu/100ml. These values are determined through cultivation in an analysts laboratory over 48 hours. For practical purposes values of "<3" or "3" can be treated the same as water quality is considered good as long as values are under 250 Escherichia coli per 100ml or 100 Intestinal enterococci per 100ml by European standard. Unfortunately the analyst is insistent that a value of “<3” is different than a value of 3 and of course he is correct. The analyst is entering these values using the "Edit Widget" in Experience Builder and the only options I have found for entering "<" values are either to have a field type that is "text" however is then difficult to symbolise or to have 2 fields, 1 containing the "<" symbol or " " (space), and a second field for the actual value as shown in the screenshot below. How are others handling "<" and ">" values in their feature tables? David Tipping

Hi - did you get anywhere with this issue? Looks like I'm in the same boat here: https://community.esri.com/t5/arcgis-dashboards-questions/dashboard-list-expression-fields-not-available/m-p/1400042 David 😀

Hi - In dashboard I am trying to build a list expression to display bathing water quality. The data is from an AGOL Feature Layer (hosted view) and is in a related table showing latest records only. The table has many fields containing tidal information, beach usage as well as analysis values for Escherichia Coli and Intestinal Enterococci which are added when the lab analysis is complete. These 2 fields are small integer fields and would typically have values between 3 and maybe 250. My currently working list shows the symbology, Beach name, sample date and time as well as the actual values for Escherichia Coli and Intestinal Enterococci - as shown. I want to add an Arcade expression that uses the same coli values to create a "Bathing water condition" like I have created for the symbology that equate to Excellent ***, Good** or Poor (no stars). When I come to use the fields already displaying coli values above, they are just not available in the selection list in Advanced Formatting and if I manually enter them, I get an "Invalid property identifier" error as shown below: So they work for simple lists but not available in Arcade for advanced formatting. Does anyone have ideas why this is so? Thanks David Tipping

I strongly agree with this idea. Any sort of in the field habitat classification would be greatly improved and more accurate with the ability to use a stylus. David Tipping

Hi - It is possible to do this by creating a view of your related table and setting it to just show the most recent record. This is described very well by Eric Wagner in the following YouTube video. See about 6:40 mins into the video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gqC-EEw3nxY I don't know if it is possible to do this directly in FieldMaps however the result will show in your map when viewed in FieldMaps David 🙂

From the instruction is linked: The value to insert immediately after field: is the value of the corresponding NAME question in your XLSForm. Do not pass the Label! So is "field_4" the actual name of the field you are trying to populate and is "ZoneID" the field Label? Are you building this in Survey123 Connect or the web tool? The map viewer choice is not related to this

Hi - there are several ways to do this. I have recently been using the related table option. There is a great set of 6 YouTube videos on how to set this up using hydrant inspection as an example workflow: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v0W6X6ovi_Q David

Agreed - in the way that Survey123 has a native Windows app. I would also suggest that Windows 10/11 compatibility is better as many larger organisations are slower to move the the latest versions of Windows.

Hi Justin - We opted for the Emlid Reach RS2. This unit is not very expensive considering its capability and has worked fantastically. We get cm accuracy most of the time with differential correction accessed through an onboard SIM. Under canopy in woodlands we achieve about 20cm accuracy on average. This integrates well with Survey23 https://emlid.com/how-to-connect-reach-with-arcgis-survey123-a-step-by-step-guide/
