I have a feature service (back end referenced SDE Postgres database) that is published to an internal portal. The feature service is password protected, ie not shared with everyone. I have added the link to the feature service to my organization's ArcGIS online content with the password embedded. I am able to edit features in ArcGIS online, view any feature attachments, and delete feature attachments. However I am unable to add attachments in ArcGIS online - there is a message of "file type unsupported" or no message at all and the attachment is never added. I can add the same attachment if I go to my portal's arcgis interface. ArcGIS Online - two existing attachments that I can view or delete but unable to add any attachments through ArcGIS Online. Able to add and edit the features otherwise. Portal - able to add the file This seems like a bug...

Thanks! For those like me unfamiliar with how to do this on Windows 10 - Right-click on lower left corner of display and one of the options will be Command Prompt (Admin)

I am trying to run Web AppBuilder as a service - but when I run npm run-script install-windows-service, I get the following error - > ArcGISWebAppBuilder@1.1.0 install-windows-service C:\arcgis-web-appbuilder-1.2\server > winser -i No rights to manage services. npm ERR! Hi - I'm using the local layer widget in combination with an AGOL map and noticed the following - if there are two map services in the AGOL map, the app on startup will load both services (sometimes in a blink of an eye) and then the first service listed in the AGOL map disappears and doesn't show up in the map, legend, layer list, olr atribute table. If I swap the map service list in AGOL, the service shown changes in the app. You can see an example AGOL map at http://ngem.maps.arcgis.com/home/webmap/viewer.html?webmap=630cae2b0470427da33e77eebf12a48f http://ngem.maps.arcgis.com/home/webmap/viewer.html?webmap=630cae2b0470427da33e77eebf12a48f Both services show up if I use a clean build without the local layer widget. Once I add the local layer widget, the first service disappears. And the missing service shows up if I add it as a dynamic layer in the local layer widget. Looks like if you use both AGOL and local layers, the AGOL layer list is getting truncated.

Hi - We have an app built using web app builder developer and need to transfer this to a different organization with the ability to continue to use the web app builder configuration tool so that additional widgets can be added. Any thoughts? A download and import doesn't work, nor does unzipping the download, editing config.json to change the portal, rezipping and reimporting.

Hi Larry - Right now the app is local behind a fire wall. I've been able to create a new app after editing the default app config.json to include acme and WelWhatDisHelpAbout and get them to run properly - I just need to figure out what I've missed in the setup when I added the widgets to the existing app. I'm going to set up the app on a public server, so if I haven't resolved the issue, I'll send you the link to see if there is something obvious I've missed. Cheers, Nancy

Hi Larry - I wanted to extract the WelWhatDisHelpAbout Widget alone from your web application, but it seems that there are a few hidden gotchas as I don't seem to be able to get the help tab to show up. If I remove the disclaimer tab, I can click through the other tabs, but then once I close the widget, I can never reopen it until the app refreshes. I was wondering if you had some suggestions of things that I can look to disable in the code (for example, help isn't available but the list is visible at startup). Does this require the Acme widget? How about the user preferences? Cheers, Nancy

If you move your service/service definition on ArcGIS Online to a new folder, the desktop app fails trying to publish. If you move the service/service definition back to your root folder you can overwrite the service successfully and then move it back to another folder. This is a bit of a pain - it would be helpful to be able to manage/see the service folder structure on the desktop.

I have a published arcgis service. I needed to add two fields to a table, so went back to arcmap, and added the fields and appropriate data. When sharing the service using the overwrite option, the service definition and packaging is created successfully but an error is generated saying Packaging succeeded, but publishing failed ERROR: code:400 Item does not exist in this folder, Bad syntax in request. A look at the GP window shows and error of 001566 Server overwrite error: failed to delete the service - with instructions to check that the service is no being cached and the cache folder can't be found in the service definition. This is an arcgis online hosted service that I previously published from the desktop. How do I fix this so that I can overwrite the service?.

(reposting specifically in geodatabase) Hi - we have an existing SQL Server Express (2012) database and instances that were configured as personal with the 3 connection limitation. We now have ArcGIS for Server Enterprise and want to get rid of this limitation. A look at the registry shows that the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\MSSQL$SQLEXPRESS ArcSDE_License key indicates Personal. The dbo..SDE_server_config table AUTH_KEY is consistent. What steps can be used to upgrade the existing SQL Server Express db/instance personal geodatabase to take advantage of ArcGis Server Enterprise Advanced number of connections. We aren't looking to upgrade to regular SQL Express right now. Thanks - Nancy

I've been mashing up the public information map with several services ( and successfully have incorporated maps from Stamen Design as basemap options). I noticed that if I click on one of my points from my feature service and get the pop up window, I only get one of the features at that point and no navigation in the popup letting me see the other 10 features at that point. Any ideas on what might be happening? Thanks, Nancy I am using the uniqueValueRenderer for displaying the points.
