I am using ArcObjects 10.0 and these lines are not necessarily vertical or horizontal so that I am assuming that my problem is not related to this specific bug.

Hello, thank you very much for your answer. Unfortunately, setting the "IsKnownSimple" property to "false" does solve this problem. The return type is implicitly set to "MultiPoint" and works quite well for other intersection tasks. Does anyone has another idea?

Hello, I am facing a problem when trying to find intersection points between a donut like polygon and a line using ITopologicalOperator.Intersect method:
// The polygon has already been casted to ITopologicalOperator4 outside the method
private static IPointCollection5 ComputeIntersectionPoints(ITopologicalOperator4 topologialOperator, ILine normalLine) {
object obj = Type.Missing;
ISegmentCollection segCollection = new PolylineClass() as ISegmentCollection;
segCollection.AddSegment((ISegment)normalLine, ref obj, ref obj);
IGeometry resultingGeometry = segCollection as IGeometry;
topologialOperator.Simplify();
var intersectionPoints = topologialOperator.Intersect(resultingGeometry, esriGeometryDimension.esriGeometry0Dimension);
return intersectionPoints.IsEmpty ? new Point() as IPointCollection5 : (IPointCollection5)intersectionPoints;
}
I am receiving a successful intersection (intersection point) on the other boundary of the polygon but I do not get a hit on the interior border (the result of topologialOperator.Intersect(...) is always null). I have attached a sketch showing the situation. The line starts within the polygon and crosses either the exterior or interior border. Does anyone can tell me why I do not get the second intersection point. Any help would be very much appreciated! Thank you very much!

Hello, I have been trying to use some of the ESRI samples as well as my own application containing an ESRI map control with Internet Explorer 10 on Windows RT running on a Windows Surface device. However, I realized that it is quite hard or better nearly impossible to pan or zoom the map various touch gestures normally used to zoom pan are not interpreted correctly. Other maps like Google Maps or Bing Maps work correctly. Does anyone has already used the ESRI map control successfully using Internet Explorer 10 on Windows RT? Does any possibility exist to influence the interpretation of touch gestures in combination with the ESRI map control? Thank you very much for any information. Best regards Thomas

Hello, I am trying to update an existing feature using the following peace of code:
var selectedTourSection = layerUtilProvider.getSelectedFeatures();
if (selectedTourSection.length > 0) {
selectedTourSection[0].attributes.STATUS = 1;
selectedOperationalLayer.applyEdits(null, [selectedTourSection[0]], null,
function () {
isTourSectionSelected = true;
},
function (error) {
console.log(error);
});
My feature "selectedTourSection" has a valid geometry assigned to it (checked using Firebug). The "applyEdits" functions even returns with success (response taken from Firebug): [HTML] addResults[] updateResults[Object { objectId=2, success=true}] ... deleteResults[] [/HTML] but nevertheless the following error appears in the Firebug console: [HTML] TypeError: _178.geometry is null [/HTML] I have no idea what is actually causing this problem. I would be thankful if anyone could shed some light on this issue. Thank you very much in advance. Thomas

Hello, I have had a look at the "Tiles in local storage" showing how to store map tiles in the local browser cache using the new HTML 5 possibilities. However, this example is using a proxy page to overcome the cross origin domain limitation. I would be interested in learning whether it is possible to realize the same behavior without using a proxy page for instance by applying the "HTML 5 Cross-Origin Resource Sharing" feature. Thank you for any hint! Best regards Thomas

Thank you very much for you help. It is working correctly now. Maybe this piece of information could be added to the official documentation. It would have saved me some hours if I had learned this requirement before.

Hello, I am currently working on a mobile solution using JQuery Mobile and ArcGIS JavaScript API. I have been developing my own attribute editor as the default ESRI attribute and attachment editor widgets do not match to our style guides. Everything is working so far apart from the attachment handling. I have been trying adding attachments (mainly images) using the following piece of code: if (featureayer.isEditable && featureayer.hasAttachments) { featureayer.addAttachment(selectedFeatureObjectID, document.getElementById("addImageForm"), function (result) { ... }, function (error) { ... }); My application is trying to post the selected image to my local server and I can see the following post request payload using the Chrome developer tools: ------WebKitFormBoundaryqLUYc2Wu8g9s28A1 Content-Disposition: form-data; name="inputFile"; filename="images.jpeg" Content-Type: image/jpeg ------WebKitFormBoundaryqLUYc2Wu8g9s28A1 Content-Disposition: form-data; name="token" B8rm1jrQR_Vh0VMZQ1EJ17IXpM284A3C3VmJHvoQC5w19hU5UwuU5TKseEAZTWP8NgaOOjV_4kJRJajyfKtCRw.. ------WebKitFormBoundaryqLUYc2Wu8g9s28A1 Content-Disposition: form-data; name="f" json ------WebKitFormBoundaryqLUYc2Wu8g9s28A1-- However it is always getting back with an error message: Error: Error performing add attachment operation Code: 500 Unfortunately, I have no idea what might be the reason of this problem. I can add attachments using ArcGIS Desktop and the ArcGIS Server Rest API via Browser so that I am assuming that this is not a issue with my feature service. Thank you very much for any hint! Best regards Thomas

Hello, I have another question related to the new HTML 5 Cross-Origin Resource Sharing feature. Is it possible to setup an application using CORS in combination with secured services based on token authentication using ArcGIS for Server 10.1? Does the identity manager support this scenario? Thanks for any reply. Best regards Thomas

Hello, I currently trying to build an application based on the JavaScript API V.3.1 and ArcGIS for Server 10.1 using secured services (token authentication). I am a little bit confused about the necessity of a proxy page when using the Identity Manager as the ESRI sample includes the well known proxy configuration ( esri.config.defaults.io.proxyUrl = "/arcgisserver/apis/javascript/proxy/proxy.ashx";). However, the same sample works also quite well without this line of code. Can anyone clarify this issue for me. Thank you very much for your help! Thomas PS: I am using some features services for editing tasks if this has any influence on the above question.
