Hi, In version 10.2.2 and 10.2.3 ESRI removed the ability to add, update or delete features from a geodatabase that was created in the ArcMap.

Hi everyone, Geodatabases ( .geodatabase files ) created from ArcMap cannot be edited and synced with a feature service. This capability is coming in a future release...hopefully the next one. I hope this is helpful. Is that mean that it cannot be edited locally as well? This capabillaty was enable in the version 10.2, and then it was disabled in 10.2.2. Is version 10.2.3 also disable it? When does the next version ,that will enable it back, be released??

Hello, everybody! I really don't how to do... I have the License only for developer, my *.geodatabase is local created by ArcGIS destop. I want to save a new feature to my database, but I really don't know how to do? FeatureTable pFeatureTable = photoLayer.getFeatureTable(); GeodatabaseFeatureTable pGdbFeatureTable = (GeodatabaseFeatureTable) pFeatureTable; // Create a feature with these attributes at the given point GeodatabaseFeature gdbFeature = new GeodatabaseFeature(attr, pGeom, pGdbFeatureTable); // Add the feature into the geodatabase table returning the // new feature ID long fid = pGdbFeatureTable.addFeature(gdbFeature); E/AndroidRuntime(10788): java.lang.RuntimeException: The service does not have "create" capability. E/AndroidRuntime(10788): at com.esri.core.geodatabase.GeodatabaseFeatureTable.nativeAddFeature(Native Method) E/AndroidRuntime(10788): at com.esri.core.geodatabase.GeodatabaseFeatureTable.addFeature(Unknown Source) This is excatly the problem that i am facing. It is working the same whether you have developer license or advanced license. I think that the problem is the geodatabse - that was created in the ArcMap - and not via server.

Did you specifically create a Runtime Geodatabase? You have to enable ArcGIS Runtime Tools in ArcMap to share as runtime content. Yes i created the geodatabase correctly. I am using the Arcgis Runtime for Android version 10.0 - and everything works there correctly. But in version 10.2 (i tryed both with developer license and the full license) i can only open the geodatabase for read-only, and i cant add new features or update the features in the feature tables that i created from that geodatabase. I saw in the SDK that this desktop pattern is best for read only use but as i see this it works only for read only use

Hi, I also had a problem updating geodatabase in version 10.2.2 - because my geodatabase was created from the ArcMap (i have a complete offline applciation that i cannot connect to a service) - desktop pattern. As i understood - this was "by design" like that. Is that changed in the new version 10.2.3?

Runtime geodatabases created through ArcMap are not meant to be editable. They are view-only. There are no tools to take a modified runtime geodatabase and pull its changes into a source geodatabase on the desktop or in a database. Hi, Is that mean that even if i will create the geodatabase through the code, and then open it in the ArcMap , then i still won't be able to edit it, save the .geodatabse file, and open it again through the code for editing? Thanks, Team Igal

Hello, I am trying to create a Geodatabase file in ArcMap 10.2.1. I had no problem doing do when i had only feature layers, but once i added a tabular data (I added one table to the layers) i constantly got an error message "General Function Failure". I tryed to add an empty table, even tryed a few different tables, but i kept on getting that error message. I am able to create MPK with the same data - it seems that the problem is only with Geodatabase. Also - when i try to do "Analyze" before i get no errors. Thanks, Ilona

unfortunately i cant provide code samples, but i am using Samsung Galaxy S3 with android version 4.1.1. I have the same code as you wrote - with one slight difference - i initialized the LocationDisplayManager property in the OnStatusChanged event of the MapView OnStatusChangedListener - so that i will make sure that the mapView is initialized before i set the LocationDisplayManager.

Hello MikeyNick, Thank you for your reply. 1. MY device is set to GPS satellites only. Meaning - my network in the device is completly off - and i am getting the location fix only from the GPS satellites . I am sitting in my office - where i have no GPS signal - and i can see in my device the there is no GPS signal (i can see the GPS sign blinking). I set a custom location acquiring symbol and i don't see it. I see my custom default symbol for the wwhole time. 2. I set all the possible symbols to be my own symbols. That includes the Default, Acquiring, Course symbols. And yes - everytime i enter the "OnLocationChanged" event of the locationManager - its appears that all my custom symbol i set before returns to be the default on (the blue circle). So i ended up setting the symbols in the event itself (meaning - setting them every second...) and only this way it works. Of course it looks bad... Thanks, Ilona

Hello, I set a special symbol for the option of SetLocationAcquiringSymbol. I was positive that this symbol will appear when i have no GPS signal and/or when i turn the GPS off. However i see no difference in the symbol from when i got GPS signal or not. How can i know when i am in the state of acquiring GPS? Isn't it supposed to be everytime i have no signal (The gps icon is blinking)? OR is there a bug there? Thanks, Team Igal

If you're still wrestling with this issue and want someone else to test it out, feel free to PM me. I can give you my email address and if your able to email your code to me then I can replicate it on one of my devices and see if I can figure out what the problem might be. Thank you for the help! Unfortunetly i can't send the code. But i realized that the map is never being initialized after i resume back. The listener of the status changed is not being called

That's not an error that I've seen before. By chance, are you overriding onDestroy and not calling super.onDestroy() at the end of the method? I am overriding onDestroy, but i am calling super.onDestroy() in the end of the method.
