My application has been working with ESRI Silverlight API 3.1 & Silverlight 4 for over a year--and I have been using VS 2012 as my IDE for over 2 years with no problems. Recently, I decided to upgrade my project to Silverlight 5. When I do this, if I continue to use ESRI's Silverlight API 3.1, my project compiles successfully (using Visual Studio 2012) , but an error appears in the "Errors" window with a description of "[Line 0 Position 0]" and all of my ESRI controls (Map, Navogation, etc.) have a blue, squiggly underline in the XAML editor. Is there a known cause for this? I've not been able to find any mention of it here or on Stack Overflow.

I upgraded to IE11 to improve performance from IE9 and now the mouse wheel scrolling zoom in/out is affected. Whether I scroll up/down the map only zooms in, not out. This is not seen with IE9 nor IE10 nor chrome nor firefox. Just IE 11. is there a workaround...? Quick answer would be appreciated. Thanks. Adding this to the <head> worked for me. Your mileage may vary. <meta http-equiv="X-UA-Compatible" content="IE=10, chrome=1" />

If you're interested in a workaround until things are fixed, add the following in the head portion of your html document.
<meta http-equiv="X-UA-Compatible" content="IE=7, IE=9, IE=10"/>
This will force IE11 to render the application as IE10. That didn't work for me, but this did: <meta http-equiv="X-UA-Compatible" content="IE=10, chrome=1" />

I believe that 3.0 supported it as well. Thanks for the info.

Yes: http://resources.arcgis.com/en/help/silverlight-api/concepts/index.html#//01660000000t000000 Thanks. Is that support just from 3.1 forward?

Is this still true? Is the URL property of the ArcGISTiledMapServiceLayer not bindable? The URL property of the ArcGISDynamicMapServiceLayer IS bindable...and these two controls are VERY similar, so it seems odd that the URL property of one would be bindable but the URL property of the other isn't. Bueler? Bueler? Anyone? Bueler?

I'm thinking I need to use a TreeView from System.Windows.Controls to do this.

Hello, The code in this article works really well if the layers in your map service DO NOT use grouping: http://forums.arcgis.com/threads/14004-Keeping-layer-checkbox-in-sync-with-layer-visibility-SL3-to-SL4-issue. Now, I've added a map service to my SL 4 app that uses layer grouping, and I want the listbox to 1) display the layer checkboxes in a nested fashion, 2) turn off sub-layers when the group is turned off, and 3) turn on sub-layers when the group is turned on--just like it works in ArcMap. Anyone have any ideas? I've been trying to make it work for a few days now, and I just can't figure it out. thanks, Tom
