Chen, Thanks for the reply. I've tried using focusManager as well, but that doesn't work either. I don't understand why setFocus works on some widgets and not on others. Also, it would be nice to have focus on whatever widget is open upon loading the application. It seems this is even more difficult because you need to take focus from the application itself before you can assign it to any particular widget. Any help anyone could give is appreciated. I've been trying to figure this out for days now. Thanks, Jay Hi Jay, Any luck with setting the focus. I wanted to set the focus on the mx:TextInput of SearchWidget. Im able to do it for the widgetConfigLoaded event but when I try set focus using "focusManager.setFocus(txtSearch);" in widgetOpenHandler I get error #1009:Cannot access a property or method of a null object reference. Thanks, Sree

The way we would want to display data maps is: ESRI Map from scales: 70000 - 4500. And then display our base map at 2250 scale and then below that scale we want to display our Image. Right now we have a Dynamic Map(Vector) which gets displayed in the FlexViewer2.1 from 70000 - 2250 and for scales below that we have Cached Map(Images) Service. However, these would have to be dynamic map services and re-projection is done on the server-side, not in the Viewer. For tiled (a.k.a. cached) map services, they must be in the same coordinate system to be displayed properly in the Viewer. Does it mean that we have to: 1. Reproject our Dynamic Map to the projection used by ESRI. Do we have to reproject all our spatial data to match it with ESRI. Do we have to do this reprojection on ArcGIS Server or in ArcMap/ArcCatalog before publishing? 2. For Tiled services do we again have to reproject our data at every level of detail to match it with ESRI coordinate system.

We want to have ArcGIS Online Maps(Spatial Reference: 102100) and our own basemaps(Spatial Reference: 3435) in the Flexviewer2.1. Is it possible? If no, why not? If yes, how can we do it?

I have two maps too. BaseMap and Aerial. But when I modified the .as to this it is working fine. public function registerHandlers(oMap:Map):void{ oMap.addEventListener(ExtentEvent.EXTENT_CHANGE,registerShowCondition); var _layer:Layer = Layer(oMap.layers[0]); var _layer2:Layer = Layer(oMap.layers[1]); _layer.addEventListener(LayerEvent.UPDATE_END,registerHideCondition); _layer2.addEventListener(LayerEvent.UPDATE_END,registerHideCondition); }

did you check these examples: http://help.arcgis.com/en/webapi/flex/samples/index.html?sample=FeatureLayerQueryRelated http://help.arcgis.com/en/webapi/flex/samples/index.html?sample=FeatureLayerQueryRelatedMultiple They are exactly what you need. Has anyone been successful getting relates to work in the Flex Sample Viewer? What I want is for the user to be able to click on a fire hydrant and get information from a related table, such as fire flow test info. If anyone has an example of this please point me to the sample or post it on the Flex API resource page. Thanks. -Will

I would like to know if there is a way to get value of a particular attribute from a featureSet? For Ex, when I do a queryTask the OnResult() method gets a FeatureSet. I can get values of all attributes -> featureSet.attributes I can get the geometry -> featureSet.features[0].geometry But how do I access a particular attribute value from the featureSet?

I would like to query one layer and get data from that layer and graphics/features from another related/non-related layer. I think this should be possible with the relate feature available in ArcGIS Server 10 and ArcGIS API for Flex 2.0. The Search Widget in SFV 2.0 does the first part of querying. But I need to figure out how to get graphics/features from other related/non-related layer. I have seen the examples but there is nothing that is close to what we want to achieve. Any help would be appreciated.
