Would it be possible to expose an internal Esri portal on apigee API manager? If so, will an endpoint only need to be made for the portal, or for each individual layer service we plan to use? On our first attempt we weren't able to due to the way the portal does re-directs during logins. Please let me know if there is a better way to go about it.

It’s about the rectangular envelope. The sketch is turned into a selection as soon as they finish drawing, so the sketch moving with the map isn’t an issue. The problem is that if the map has been rotated, then the envelope will be rotated as well when it is drawn. What I’m hoping for is some way to control whether the envelope is rotated when it is initially drawn.

It turned out the problem was that I put mapPointQuery.maxFeatures = 1 in my query. I thought it would make the selection faster by having it return as soon as it found a matching feature, but it actually made it much slower.

I'm using the SketchEditor to create a selection UI. This works great except that when users rotate the map, the rectangular envelope that is created by the SketchEditor rotates as well. Is there some way to prevent the SketchEditor shapes from rotating the shapes it draws, when the map rotates?

It's looking like this might be a difficult one to reproduce. The layer is internal data on ArcGIS Enterprise, and when I used an official Esri layer I couldn't recreate the problem (both single and multiple selected in 2-3 seconds). If I get more info I'll follow up.

It's fast when selecting a single polygon using the Web Map or the Collector App, and when selecting multiple polygons in the SDK. It's only when selecting a single polygon using selectFeatures in the SDK that it's slow.

I'm trying to select polygons based on where the user clicks. In order to do that I have let mapPointQuery = AGSQueryParameters() mapPointQuery.geometry = mapPoint This eventually works, but is EXTREMELY slow. When I pass in a rectangle for the geometry it is able to select a dozen or so polygons in ~2 seconds, but when I pass in a point it takes ~13 seconds to select a single polygon. It's roughly the same no matter what spatialRelationship I choose. I've tried a few alternative that haven't worked very well: - The identifyLayers function is faster, but I need to be able to pass in a whereClause query and selection mode - expanding the point into a small envelope works ok, but it almost always selects multiple polygons and I really want to only select a single one. Is there some way to speed things up so that point select and rectangle select perform similarly? It seems like the huge difference in performance points to something that can be optimized on the ArcGIS side.

Is this possible in the ArcGIS SDK? In the sample code I can see where a Dictionary Renderer can display Point symbols, and I can see where it uses AGSSymbolStyle.symbolForKeys to create a single AGSMultilayerPointSymbol, but not both at the same time.

Alright, that explains why the data-collection sample calls AuthenticationManager.shared().credentialCache.removeAllCredentials() instead of .logout() Thanks for the clarifications.

I'm trying to call .logout() on a portal that a user has successfully logged in to, but the call seems to do nothing. After calling it, portal.user and portal.portalInfo are still set, and the loadStatus is still .loaded . Is this the expected behavior or a bug?

I'm talking about the Collector App vs the iOS SDK. On a windows laptop, the Collector App can load our web map's feature layer as fast as I can scroll. On the iOS SDK running on the simulator on a Mac laptop on the same wireless network, it takes ~3-4 seconds to load new symbols after scrolling. This is the case in both my custom app and the open source Data Collection app that mine is based on.

I'm working on an iOS app which is going to add company-specific functionality using the Collector app as the starting point. However, the way that the Collector app and the iOS app loads maps seems to be very different. The Collector app pre-loads the surrounding area so that it displays quickly, while the iOS SDK only begins to load items once they are get on the screen, meaning that there is a lag time before they are displayed, and they seem to be deleted as soon as they leave the screen. Is there some way to make the iOS SDK act more like the Collector app without going to full-on manual caching?

This did it, thanks! (Though some sample code for wantsToShow would still be helpful in general)
