Does anyone know of a list of data providers for S-57 Electronic Navigational Charts (ENC) which could be consumed via ArcGIS products. Ideally the provider will have a global scope but country and regional listing will also be useful to know.

"On our dynamic Earth, continents don’t sit still. They slowly move around the planet, stretching oceans and lifting mountain ranges. [...] Over time, things add up. And it’s beginning to impact the accuracy of geospatial data. " Read more about how tectonic motion is affecting your map accuracy and impacting real world engineering problems.

I have an operations dashboard that includes an indicator where the value represents a number from the the Beaufort scale. I am already using a static icon representing wind which works fine but I would like to jazz up the dashboard a little and think it could look good if the icon was to change based on the Beaufort scale value (think tranquil house and vertical chimney smoke scene at value 1 and associated devastation at value 12 or the most official options below). Is this possible in #operations dashbord or arcgis experience

We know the Earth is ellipsoidal-ish and really rather bumpy which is why we work with and have to understand many projections, datums and all their varying components. On top of this it is important to know that the Earth's surface is not static and in fact it is continuously changing shape (e.g. tectonic movement, rotation etc). This is one of the reasons why we see new datums being released. Introducing the dynamic coordinate reference system - to help introduce this concept the IOGP Geomatics committee released this video. And find out additional information at the 2017 European Petroleum User Group Conference.

I have spent some time reviewing the latest iteration of ArcGIS Experience and I think it is a fantastic development in the "WebApp Builder space" enabling a kind of hybrid Enterprise Site and WAB experience for users. It is much easier to customise (e.g. adding home-grown svg's and the like), page design (much less restriction on page design), cross-hardware design (in built emulators) and incorporating arcade into widgets like Filter will be useful to use. One notable exception missing is any sort of charting widget...I hope this is in the timeline but can ESRI comment on the inclusion of charts (like those available in Ops. Dashboard and the WAB Infographic widget)? Also when in the development timeline will Experience be released for the Enterprise?

I'm researching to see if it is possible to add a new feature to a map on an Enterprise Site where it's shape and size is predefined...is this possible? I'm envisaging that this is a little like The True Size Of ... website where one can drag a country polygon (i.e. of a set size and shape) and it's honour the projection etc... Otherwise the workflow will be a little more disjointed for the user in question which will be along the lines of: 1. Select centroid 2. Create buffer around those points

It sounds like you might have gone through most of these checks but have a look at this blog post on the subject: https://community.esri.com/groups/coordinate-reference-systems/blog/2018/12/12/checklist-adding-coordinate-values-from-a-spreadsheet

I think I'm following your request.... Couldn't you convert your data projected in GDA 1994 MGA Zones using the GDA94 datum into something like the GDA94 Lambert Projection? The Lambert projection is conformal and will preserve shape...otherwise some Azimuthal Equidistant projection would work to preserve length but only from a single point...it kind of depends on the scale of the information you're trying to re project etc... For your other lat longs do you know their CRS as you'll need to know to find the appropriate transformation method?

I hope I'm not the only person asking but where did the Arcade expression language come from? I kinda guessed from the Arc bit of it that it might have been developed by ESRI however, if there's any history it would be nice to see. The only thing I uncovered is: Arcade is a lightweight and secure expression language written for use in the ArcGIS platform. Like other expression languages, it can perform mathematical calculations and evaluate logical statements. It was designed specifically for creating custom visualizations and labeling expressions in the ArcGIS Platform, allowing users to write, share, and execute custom expressions in ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Online, the ArcGIS Runtime APIs, and the ArcGIS API for JavaScript. from Arcade Guide

When making sites I like to include icons and graphics (like those in this link) this is to make the site as informative and engaging as possible - the idea is I can provide an idea of what a particular feature is about through a graphic rather than a block of text. Although it is possible and easy enough to work with *.png versions of *.svg icons there are benefits of working directly with svg files in a website. For example, the ability to control the style of the svg through CSS e.g. invert from black to white (e.g. style="filter:invert(100%;)") based on the background colour - in this case the background might be subject to change during the design of the site and changing the CSS is easier than creating another version of a *.png in say black rather than white. Currently I can access *.svg files via writing HTML with accompanying CSS but I need to store the *.svg in a location accessible via hyperlink (e.g. src="https://www.somewhere.com/etc/icon.svg"). Will images in *.svg format be added to the list of supported data types for enterprise sites where we might be able to access and manipulate them?

I believe I answered my own question.... Publish a web map service as usual from ArcGIS Pro to your Portal (it must be as a tile service - like a Vector Tile Service). Create a web map and add that recently published web tile service. Move the web tile service to the base map layer (hit the layer > three dots > move to base map) and remove the default web service from the base map (you will only be able to remove the default web service if the new service is setup correctly - this is enough to create a new discussion i think). Save the web map now you have a web map in your chosen spatial reference.

I am troubleshooting a query to publish a web map and feature service in a local coordinate reference system. The reasoning behind this request is that the web map and associated feature services will be used in a WebApp Builder app. The app will be used to add and edit points amongst other things. Within this request, there is a requirement to enable the entering of linear coordinate units using the local CRS and not use the standard lat/long values for 4326 or XY values for 3857 pseudo-mercator projection. There are a few workarounds one of which includes providing guidance on how to convert/transform coordinate values but this is a workaround and not a very good solution given the context of the request. I have seen that there are base maps and services in AGOL which are projected in CRS's other than 3857 for example the OS Open Carto is projected in British National Grid. Therefore, after some context, the question is: What is the full workflow, when using ArcGIS Pro 2.4 to publish a web service to act as a base map to an ArcGIS Enterprise Portal in a projection other than 3857?

There isn't a metadata repository as such however, most of the terminology is found on the WPI PDF and Access database which can be downloaded from the above link. LIFT is the Crane/Lift attribute which has been divided into 100+ tons, 50-100 toms, 25-49 toms, 0-24 tons etc... Pratique Quarantine is a maritime term used for a license given to a ship to enter port on assurance from the captain to convince the authorities that she is free from contagious disease. If you do build a metadata listing please do share it!

This blog might answer some of those questions... https://community.esri.com/groups/coordinate-reference-systems/blog/2018/12/12/checklist-adding-coordinate-values-from-a-spreadsheet Otherwise can you expand on what you mean by local coordinates? e.g. how were these collected, have you tried to use the define project tool to assign a local CRS to the coordinate values and from there the project tool to transform/convert to a global CRS?
