Hello! I was using python ArcREST script (modified GitHUB example) to delete certain objects from feature service in a following way: fst = featureservicetools.featureservicetools(securityinfo) ... fst.DeleteFeaturesFromFeatureLayer(url=fs_url, sql=sql,chunksize=2000) The deletion was successful and a good bunch of features were indeed deleted, this could be verified by looking on the webmap. However, after some days I checked our organizational account and noticed that the use of credits was still the same although the quite a few deleted features had a good load of picture attachments with them - I assume they were deteted too??? If not, then why I see our organization still using the same amount of credits per day? After all that was the main reason to delete those older fieldwork objects (with picture atatchments), to free some credits and space... Raivo Alla Estonian Land Board

A couple of months ago I was testing WebApp Builder and noticed that in BasemapGallery widget there is no support for WMS-basemap. But now for us more crucial is WMTS service support. I have any luck having our http://tiles.maaamet.ee/tm/wmts? as a basemap there. So, the question is - will WebApp Builder support WMTS in the future? Or is it present in 10.3 already? Thank you, Raivo Alla Estonian Land Board

Sorry for late feedback Due to several problems I lost patience to do something useful for us with ArcGIS Javascript API. Mainly because too much struggle with custom projections... Switched to do some more basic stuff with application templates and we even updated our tiling technology (now it's MapCache) to produce WMTS tile layer (TMS ja not acceptable for Arcgis.com). Well, now the thing is that yes I can add our WMTS tile service to map easily, but still I don't get any sensible printout when pressing "Print" button. Tried even some other,non-Estonian, WMTS services, but still the same bug: WMTS basemap does not appear in printout! Actually, this frustration does not end here, but I don't fall into that deep hole of problems we face dealing with ArcGIS Server or frontend development, at the moment. For us the most important things are our custom basemaps - yes, we don't use ArcGIS to produce them (thank God!) - that are projected in EPSG:3301. Because of diffent problems we can't serve our tiled basemaps in JSAPI-s Basemap Gallery and now, with that new printout bug - can't serve them at all. I hope my criticism will be constrctive, I've send this bug to our local support. Atm, I don't have alternatives to use other solutions besides ArcGIS, so have mercy, Jackals.

Hello! I have issue with ArcGIS Server service re-publishing with arcpy. I am following this help here: ArcGIS Help (10.2, 10.2.1, and 10.2.2) ... and trying to republish my existing service by successfully changing my .sddraft file like that: tagsType = doc.getElementsByTagName('Type') for tagType in tagsType: if tagType.parentNode.tagName == 'SVCManifest': if tagType.hasChildNodes(): tagType.firstChild.data = "esriServiceDefinitionType_Replacement" tagsState = doc.getElementsByTagName('State') for tagState in tagsState: if tagState.parentNode.tagName == 'SVCManifest': if tagState.hasChildNodes(): tagState.firstChild.data = "esriSDState_Published" But every it will rename existing service (adding timestamp suffix): So old services will just hang there and obviously no replacing takes place (need to use ArcGIS Help (10.2, 10.2.1, and 10.2.2) afterwards?). And not just services are proliferating... Since every time I will re-create tiles also, there will be new tile folder also in arcgisserver\directories\arcgiscache. And I am using arcpy.ManageMapServerCacheTiles_server tool with DELETE_TILES option first and RECREATE_ALL_TILES secondly. So this is very bothering and I can't see how this archiving of old services and cache folders takes place. Thanks! Raivo Alla Estonian Land Board

Thanks! I hope that WMTS layer will be supported too - we're soon switching from TMS-standard to WMTS so hopefully we can use our tiled basemaps also in BasemapGallery Widget. Raivo

Hello! I am trying to add our WMS-basemap into the Web AppBuilder BasemapGallery widget, but it fails, showing only red exclamation mark (no explanation). I assume it is possible to add WMS service as a basemap there? I tried WMS with our national SRS (http://kaart.maaamet.ee/wms/alus?) and also EPSG:4326 (http://kaart.maaamet.ee/wms/alus-geo?) but both failed to load... Is there any evident reason? Well, no use setting our custom extent in the code (loadWebMap->arcgisUtils.createMap->mapOptions)... Google Chrome console reveals that it still addresses GetMap request with SRS=4326. Raivo

I mean, in the previous version of storymaps I could modify esri.arcgis.utils.createMap mapOptions (index.html) and simply add extent: new esri.geometry.Extent({xmin:360000,ymin:6343000,xmax:730000,ymax:6657000,spatialReference:{wkid:3301}}) ... to support EPSG:3301 SRS. Now I cant find the place to do that. Raivo

😮 Last one was AGOL for Organization map, indeed, this one is for public use (last one was for "everyone" too, but in our organization): http://www.arcgis.com/home/webmap/viewer.html?webmap=b259b2e5e83a43eda8107f6017aaca09 Points are loaded, but instead of basemap there is all white. Raivo

Hello! I tried to use updated Map Tour template (downloadable version for developers), but have some complications. The problem is that when I replace webmapid (in index.html) to b259b2e5e83a43eda8107f6017aaca09, then loading map tour it throws me an error: "Sorry, Map Tour loading failed" My webmap http://maaamet.maps.arcgis.com/home/webmap/viewer.html?webmap=b259b2e5e83a43eda8107f6017aaca09 has custom WMS-service as a basemap (and with our national SRS EPSG:3301), so I guess this should be the problem? I have no problem using it with some other webmap that has ESRI basemap. I still assume, it should be possible to suck webmap with WMS-service as a basemap into storymap... but how? To elaborate the issue once more, the problem seems to be - as it is stated almost 3 years ago in http://forums.arcgis.com/threads/85123-WebTiledLayer-doesn-t-work-with-BasemapGallery-dijit?highlight=custom+basemaps - BasemapGallery does not fully support custom WebTiledLayers, even if it claims so (https://developers.arcgis.com/en/javascript/jsapi/basemaplayer.html : "Must specify either the url or type parameter except for WebTiledLayers where url and type is required. (Added at v3.7)"). However, I will get my basemaps in SocialMedia map when my referenced webmap has some ArcGIS basemap defined. But, as soon asI use my custom basemap (WMS service added with "use as a basemap" option), this functionality vanishes... So, summing it up - it appears to be a bug (or a businness stragtegy?). Thanks Abhy, but I have no success here. It doesn't even trigger the onLoad function there: connect.connect(_self.basemapDijit, "onLoad", function() {
console.log("im in!");
...
} But as soon as I set "showArcGISBasemaps: true" in BasemapGallery contruction, the onload function fires correctly. 😞 Raivo
