Hi Mike, I was wondering if it is possible to change the correct answer to this question. When you answered it, there were no admin tools for AGOL. Since that time, we now have access to new admin tools that address the problem. Is it possible, or worth the time and effort, to update this so that users can find the correct answer? Smitty

SO I have created several online maps using the most recent version of the Summary map viewer on GitHub. Each of these viewers is then embeded into a web page. The issue I am having is that when the user clicks on a point, the info window opens witht the correct information, but it is not recentering on the map when clicked. So if the user clicks on a point near the edge of the map, the window opens, but the majority of the window does not show because it falls outside of the map window. For the user to then see the info window they have to pan the map. What snippet of JS do I need to add to the code to get it to recenter when the user clicks on a point? Thanks!

Hi Julie, The reason I did not post a simple answer is that the work around I figured out involves editing the index.html, main.js and I created a custom css file as well. I am also pretty sure that my execution is not the cleanest way to do this. If this is something you are interested in I am more then willing to share the code

Emily, In the mapConfig.js file you need to change the MaxAllowablePoints value. This is around line 19 and by default it is set to 99

I am using the following code to embed a web map on a web page. I would like to customize the banner color and maybe play with some of the text fonts etc. Is there a way to customize the embeded map styles?
<div class="col col1_1" align="Center">
<iframe width="500" height="400" frameborder="0" scrolling="no" marginheight="0" marginwidth="0" src="http://tpl.maps.arcgis.com/home/webmap/templates/OnePane/basicviewer/embed.html?webmap=c9729a84beee4ded9bd61f2b61598e0c&gcsextent=-122.2583,36.9674,-122.0977,37.0678&displayscalebar=true&displaylegend=true"></iframe>
</p>

Thanks for the tip Mark. Between looking at the code and some bootstrap documentation I got it figured out.

I'm not sure if you want to change all of the text font size (including the intro) or just the info popup text. I am going to presume just the popup text You will want to edit the style.css file, or you can create a custom css file. The advantage to creating a custom css file is that you can easily transfer the changes to other countdown storymaps that you create. In the css folder copy the Style.css file and rename it custom.css Open the Custom.css file in a text editor. Delete all of the info in the file, after the commented out copyright info. Next add the following bit of code:
#info{
font-size:12px;
}
Save the file Next open the index.html file (located in the main folder) Here you will need to add a lie of code so that the app will know to use the custom.css file. Look for the portion of code that is letting the app know where the style sheets are located (around line 55) At the bottom of the list of stylesheets add the following code:
<link rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" href="css/custom.css">
Save the file. You should now be able to refresh the web page and you will see the change you made to the font size. You may need to clear your cache to see the changes. You can find out more about css files here: W3Schools

I would like to create an intro widow in the tabbed viewer similar to what Bern set up in his PS caveloop stroymap. http://downloads.esri.com/agol/pub/lavabeds/caveloop/index.html I realize I will have to edit the html css and js code. While I feel I could piece this together over time through trial and error, I am wondering if someone has the snippets ready to go and would be willing to share them. Thanks! Smitty

Lauren, Does your organization have an AGOL account? Do you need these maps to be secure or can they be publicly viewable? If you have an AGOL account, You can create your map in AGOL, then under sharing you can use one of several templates that they offer. I am pretty sure that both the Baisc Viewer and the simple viewer are configured as responsive viewers. This means that they will adapt to the device you are using to view them (Desktop, Tablet or phone). You'll want to make sure that the popup for your layer is configured to show your description and image.

You could use one of the "new" AGOL admin tools. In some cases, You will need to be the owner of the map for this to work. Admin Tools Wiki

From talking with the ESRI folks at the Conference and through emails, there is no longer any support for the javascript sample viewer. If you want an upgraded version, you will need to do it yourself. There are posts in the old thread which tell you how to upgrade to at least 1.6 http://resources.esri.com/arcgisserver/apis/javascript/arcgis/index.cfm?fa=codeGalleryDetails&scriptId=15987
