Hi! Hoping for some widget development help. I’d like to modify the filter widget to apply the same filter to all three feature layers visible in my web app I have three and only three feature layers, each having common field names. I have the regular filter widget set up to filter TWO FIELDS in ONE LAYER. The widget is set up to use the great built-in functionality to present the unique values of the field as choices. I would love the Group Filter widget to be able to apply this filter to three different feature layers having the same field names, but it does not, the group filter widget only allows you to filter one field. So, my workaround is going to be to use the filter widget as I have it set up now to filter the two fields of one layer, but then modify it in Developer edition to force it to apply this filter to all feature layers. I have developer edition all set up and I intend to copy the regular Filter widget folder and modify it, I just am lost in the JavaScript. Thought it might be an easy enough modification that someone could help here? Thanks so much!

Thanks so much for your answer Rob! So the two different fields need two different values entered. The group filter seems to only allow entering one value, assuming all fields added would be looking for the same value. Also, I do like the better functionality of the other filter widget that gives you the unique values of the fields as choices. Thoughts?

Hi, hoping for some help! Can I make a webapp with layers that can only be viewed when a filter is applied? So instead of "No Filter" showing all the data, it would show no data. I have a dataset where features have the same locations, and it only makes sense to view this data when a filter is applied. An example (this is not my application) is a point layer of different cars I might buy, and a webapp that lets me see what my driveway would look like with one new car occupying the only available spot in my driveway. The layer would have points for a car, a truck, and a van, all with the same XY coords, symbolized differently, and the view of the webapp only makes sense when you are filtered to view one and only one of these cars, because if you don't filter, you see a jumbled mess of car symbols on top of the same X, and instead of that mess you'd rather see the empty spot until you pick one. Hoping to stay near the simplicity of the WebApp builder, and want something as simple as the Filter widget. Thanks!!!

Hi, hoping for some help! I have a point feature class layer and a polyline feature class layer that need to be filtered and viewed in a simple WebApp. Both layers have the same fields FieldA and FieldB, and I want the user to be able to enter one set of filter expressions, FieldA = (choice of unique values A) AND FieldB = (choice of unique values B available after previous filter of FieldA), and have that expression set applied to both the Point layer and the Polyline layer. How can I do this? So in my mind I need the functionality of the standard Filter widget, but applied to multiple layers like the Group Filter widget. Correct me if I am wrong but the Group Filter widget appears to allow only one field expression. The closest I have come is making the user enter the same set of filters in the standard Filter widget, to each layer, one at a time. Hoping to stay near the simplicity of the WebApp builder, and want something as simple as the Filter widget - just applied to multiple layers. Thanks in advance!
