@RobertKrisher To transfer data, we have been exporting an asset package from the functioning UN file geodatabase approach. For copy/paste of the UN feature datasets... Is there a recommended sequence ? Thinking about associations, if there is an association between Devices and Structure points (e.g. a transformer is on a pole), should one copy / paste the Structure points from file UN geodatabase to the staged Enterprise UN schema first? Please advise on the process. Thank you

I have the same problem with adding the ArcGIS Portal 11.1 to the ArcGIS Pro 3.1.2 when both are installed on the same Windows Server 2022 Datacenter. I could add this AGE portal from P{ro that is installed on an external to AGE machine. I use https:\\ . Are there any suggestions to try?

The requirement is to replicate what the GP "Annotate Selected Features" does in Pro using REST API call(s). The fact that there is an Apply Edits operation available on the Annotation Layer suggests that it should be possible to create annotations directly via the rest service. Configuration: AGE10.9.1, ArcGIS Pro 2.9.4, Electric Utility Network Foundation dataset. We have completed the following steps: - created a feature-linked annotation class referencing the Utility Network dataset, published as the Feature Layer service - tested adding a new UN feature using REST API (Add Feature and Apply Edits). Worked as expected, both calls created new UN features with the respective feature-linked annotations. - tested adding Annotation to the existing features in Pro using GP Annotate Selected Features . Created a map referencing the UN feature layer, executed GP Annotate Selected Features. Worked as expected, a feature-linked annotation was created for the selected feature. - tried to use REST API (..server/rest/services/Electric_UN_Annotation/FeatureServer/14/applyEdits) to add feature linked annotations to existing features. The operation doesn’t fail (i.e. it claims success as a result of the post) but the annotation is not created / doesn’t show up. I’m passing the following edits to the Apply Edits of the Annotation feature service [{"attributes":{ "TextString":"test annotation, N,", "FeatureGlobalID":"{15D74B0A-B823-436D-B115-9FEBE969A0D5}", "AnnotationClassID":1, "Status":0, "Angle":358.059 }, "geometry":{"rings":[[[356112.8754,198283.8749],[356146.1860,198282.7461],[356146.4548,198191.6771],[356113.1442,198192.8060],[356112.8754,198283.8749]]]} }] And the result is { "addResults": [{ "objectId": 34040, "globalId": "{54F518C3-1B6D-418F-B4B9-9A3A975C14D1}", "success": true }], "updateResults": [], "deleteResults": [] } What additional steps should be done to create a feature linked annotation for the selected features using REST API? Basically we would like to replicate what GP Annotate Selected Features does but using the REST calls. Please advise thank you

We suggest adding a capability to return an aggregated geometry that has the exact length as defined by a Function Barrier condition. By default, when we trace fiber strands (non-spatial Communication edge objects) the trace returns the concatenated geometries of the traced parent features (i.e. the entire line features representing fiber cables) not a partial feature result as per the Function Barrier. Example use case is a Fiber OTDR Trace. The OTDR (Optical Time Domain Reflectometer) device provides a distance to the location of a problem. The User should be able to select a specific fiber strand to trace, set a Function Barrier condition to the OTDR distance value and set Result Type to “Aggregated Geometry”. The key is that the returned by the Trace aggregated geometry should be “trimmed” to the exact value set by the Function Barrier (i.e. provide partial feature result). This will allow a precise location of the problem to be graphically indicated.

Hi Remi I appreciate your clarification. It assured that we are on the right track. Further testing confirmed that rendering of new features created in a branch version UN works as expected in the 3D Local Scene. We had to adjust settings in the scene's symbology as per your recommendations (see a screenshot below). Thank you!

We edit features using Electric1 Utility Network (UN) feature service in a branch version. All works in 2D Map. We have also created a Local Scene to show the UN features in 3D. In both views (2D map and Local Scene) the UN Feature Service was switched to use the same branch version. The challenge is that Scene view does not render features (such as Structure Points and Devices) that were created in the same branch version (i.e. user placed a pole in 2D map). However, Scene View does show 3D rendering of similar existing UN features (from the SDE.DEFAULT) correctly. Does ArcGIS Pro Local Scene view support rendering of UN features created in a branch version? If yes, are there any specific settings that we have missed? We tried to create UN features with Z set to 0 (On the Ground Elevation settings) and Z real world value (with "At Absolute Height" layer's settings). We have tested with AGE10.9, Electric1 Utility Network Feature Service and ArcGIS Pro (v 2.7.4)

I had a similar error when was trying to create a map from the Gas and Pipeline Data Management for ArcGIS Enterprise Feature Service (with Location Referencing enabled). In the initial map I added layers from the ArcGIS Utility Network and ArcGIS Pipeline Referencing (Gas PDM v1.1), then applied symbology for Gas Utility Network layers (i.e. exported Layer from the Gas Utility Network map and then imported Symbology in the respective layers of new map). Finally, I published a new Feature Service to the Portal (ArcGIS Enterprise 10.8.1, Pro 2.6.2). I got the exact same error "The value type is inconsistent with other associated value types..." when was trying to add the above feature service to a new map. Researching the issue, I found this post. Based on a tip from Paul, I have re-created the map and published the feature service with the default symbology (as created by adding layers from the Catalog database connection to the Map). Publishing with the default symbology resolved the error, I can now add the feature service to a new map. Thanks for the tip. However, accessing this feature service from 3rd party applications (like WMS capability) shows the "default symbology"), so I would like to understand how the error can be troubleshooted and resolved so I could re-publish the service.

We are developing an add-in for ArcGIS Pro 2.6.4 to update Utility Network features. The add-in uses a Feature Service to update the Enterprise geodatabase (ArcGIS Enterprise 10.8.1, Utility Network Communications Data Management v1 geodatabse in SQL Server). The logic we are trying to implement in the add-in conflicts with the logic of features' creation that was implemented in the Attribute Rules. We would like to disable selected Attribute Rules for duration of the update transaction. Is it possible to disable an attribute rule temporarily (in a session) using a feature service API? There are GP tools to enable/disable Attribute Rules in the Attribute Rules toolset. However, we have observed that disabling / altering an attribute rule using GP tools has the geodatabase scope and requires an exclusive lock on the dataset. Any active connections to the dataset should be closed and disabling requires stopping of the feature services. Hence we cannot use the provided GP tools for our use case. PS: I do understand that Attribute Rules were invented to address consistency and integrity of the data concerns. The challenge is that attribute rules can also be used to automate editing of data in Pro thus enforcing only certain logic/ order of data editing steps. Hence it would be desirable to bypass / disable certain Attribute rules at runtime via API in add-ins that implement a different logic of editing features & relationships.

I have similar issue while creating features in Utility Network Comm v1 feature service (ArcGIS Pro 2.6.4, ArcGIS Enterprise 10.8.1). As part of troubleshooting, I have also published the Comm v1 Asset Package to a file geodatabase. In the Comm File geodatabase, I can digitize 2 wire knockouts and a wire duct bank StructureLine between them - no errors in Arcad attribute rules are displayed. I applied the Comm asset package to the enterprise geodatabase and published a feature service. I made sure that all Attribute Rules have the "Exclude from Client evaluation" check box checked (even those that are disabled). When I tried to repeat these same above steps in a branch version using Comm Feature Service, Pro shows a similar error : "Unable to complete operation. Failed to evaluate Arcade expression. [ Rule name: StructureLine - Create Duct in Duct Bank, triggering event: Insert, Class Name: StructureLine..." (see attached). I compared the attribute rule between the File geodatabase and the Feature service, the only difference in details of the data source (i.e. local vs enterprise geodatabase). In summary, the Attribute Rule works with the Local file geodatabase works, and does not work when editing in the feature service. I had no issues / errors reported when Applying the asset package and publishing feature services. Is there a way to troubleshoot such an error in Attribute Rule when using a Feature Services? Are there any recommendations?

Hello, I was getting this message when digitizing Ducts in UN Communication. As you suggested, I checked in the SQL Server, apparently Sequences were not created in the geodatabase (SQL Server) by the Apply Asset package GP. I have checked B_DatabaseSequence table in the source asset package "CommunicationsDataManagementForArcGISEnterpriseV1" , this table in the source Asset Package is also empty (no records). All other Asset Packages I have used (UN Electric, UN Gas, UN Water) had the database sequences created properly. How should sequences be created the Communications v1 Utility Network? Please advise Thank you Serguei

Assuming that the client has been licensed for full ArcGIS Enterprise and there are no concerns related to performance / usability (this is a non-production system, a proof-of-concept environment)... Is the answer Yes, the SQL Server Express 2016+ release can be configured as an Enterprise Geodatabase housing the Utility Network? Please confirm

... I just want to close the loop on this issue... Upon further investigation the issue was triggered by settings of the default SDE_TBS tablespace. The "autoextensible" parameter was set to NO. The allocated by default 400Mb was just enough to complete Apply Package process but Oracle couldn't increment during execution of the "Register As Versioned", hence it failed. Troubleshooting was complicated by another defect I mentioned above: Note the resulting dialog was shown as "empty white". see screenshot below As Paul LeBlank mentioned the reported messages were just the result of failed initial Register As Versioned attempt. I had to remove the user in Oracle and alter the default SDE_TBS tablespace with autoextend ON: alter database datafile 'C:\TEMP\ORA\DATABASE\SDE_TBS' autoextend on; This fixed the issue (had to re-deploy the Electric asset package from scratch with the altered tablespace). I do not see reasons why the default setting for SDE_TBS wouldn't have the autoextend parameter ON to avoid the issues. Please consider

The "Register as Versioned" function failed the first time I tried it to run on UN Electric, right after I applied the COTS Asset Package (Electric v3.4). As you suggested, I run UnregisterAsVersioned_management (see the log below). Then run "Register as Versioned" again to create BRANCH versions for the UN feature set. It failed with the exact same message: Unique indexes can't be specified for multiversion tables [Unique index GDB_CT1_48 found while enabling multibranch for UN_ELECTRIC.ELECTRICASSEMBLY] [UN_ELECTRIC.ElectricAssembly] Failed to execute (RegisterAsVersioned). below is the Log from UnregisterAsVersioned: ..\ElectricUtilityNetwork_a9fce4\orcl.sde\UN_ELECTRIC.Electric NO_KEEP_EDIT NO_COMPRESS_DEFAULT c:\program files\arcgis\pro\Resources\ArcToolbox\toolboxes\Data Management Tools.tbx\Versions\UnregisterAsVersioned Thursday, August 13, 2020 11:49:21 AM ..\ElectricUtilityNetwork_a9fce4\orcl.sde\UN_ELECTRIC.Electric false false ..\ElectricUtilityNetwork_a9fce4\orcl.sde\UN_ELECTRIC.Electric 1000 0 ..\ElectricUtilityNetwork_a9fce4\p20\electric_assetpackage.gdb false LZ77 MEAN 0 ACM599 STATISTICS 1 1 false CONVERT_UNITS false true NEAREST true Same As Input true 128 128 PYRAMIDS -1 NEAREST DEFAULT 75 NO_SKIP NO_SIPS false CURRENT NONE MAXOF Same As Input DEFAULT false false ..\ElectricUtilityNetwork_a9fce4\p20\electric_assetpackage.gdb Start Time: Thursday, August 13, 2020 11:49:21 AM Succeeded at Thursday, August 13, 2020 11:49:38 AM (Elapsed Time: 16.95 seconds) Thursday, August 13, 2020 11:49:21 AM 16.95 seconds
