Y'ALL! If you missed the simple/clean Jupyter Notebook interface, good news...this was a bug that was finally fixed in Pro 2.9.2: Updates have been made to the following defect which you are associated with: BUG-000144913 - After the installation of ArcGIS Pro 2.9, when Jupyter Notebook is opened on the browser, the menu bar is missing. Current Information: Status: Implemented. Public Explanation: This patch fix applies to the arcgispro-py3 environment. To get the desired behavior, users will need to first update to Pro 2.9.2, then either re-create the clone (getting the fixes from arcgispro-py3) or run “conda upgrade jupyter_contrib_nbextensions” in any affected custom environments. Soooo...this inability to select/de-select the group layer from displaying was a known bug nearly a year ago. I've encountered the same thing now in Pro 2.7 and have been pulling my hair out until I found this post. Is this going to be fixed anytime soon?

Pulling my hair out a little over this one - working some AIS data in the Northwest Passage using Pro 2.5.2. When attempting to reconstruct tracks, I get one of three outcomes: 1. Error message that time hasn't been enabled in the point file (it has) or 2. Tracks generated capture about 15 to 35% of the point data used as input resulting in "janky" ship tracks and point data with a common mmsi that are completely omitted. 3. Huge error message with unintelligible (to me) statements about where the tool failed, which appears to be everywhere. The data have a lot more fields per record than typical AIS data sets (includes vessel emissions values, some extra polar categorizations for a total of 30 fields/record), but the data sets aren't obscenely huge - we're talking Arctic here, not the approaches to Houston/Galveston or LA/LB. Either I'm missing something simple, or there's some sort of bug, but it's enough to make me consider downloading QGIS. Anyone else experience this issue? Any insight?

OK...I'm probably missing a very simple step, but I'm at the point where I can't figure out why-in-the-heck I keep getting the attached error when trying to build tracks from AIS point data. Sure, it's a super big file (~25,000,000 records, nearly 3 GB) but I can't imagine that would be the problem. Anyone got tips with working with the Marine Cadastre annual AIS point data files? I've been trying to build better tracks (fewer gaps) than those created with the tools on the Marine Cadastre AIS line files by starting with the point data myself.

I am the Deputy Division Chief for the Waterways Risk Analysis and Support Division at the USCG's Navigation Center in Alexandria, VA. A few GIS successes - I converted the trial version of ArcGIS Pro from a trial version to a full subscription and I can spell "GIS"...seriously, getting back in to the swing of getting to think for a living, so my GIS wins are being able to blow the cob webs out of my previous (limited) experience with GIS Areas of interest - data-driven waterways management decisions, marine spatial planning, ships and navigation interests.
