I have the same issue with no idea how to go about resolving it. I have no issues publishing normal map service but for geocoding services, it always fail an generic error message.

Hello, I am currently helping my client migrate data from autocad to geodatabase. I notice there are different type of entity aka autocad feature classes. 1) May I know what is the mapping of autocad entity type to feature classes? 2) May I know if there are some entity type that cannot be exported? 3) http://downloads.esri.com/support/whitepapers/sde_/J8687_CAD-GIS_Geodatabase.pdf I have read the following document but there is not much information on that. please kindly assist. Thanks

My client has buildings, carparks and social buildings I have seem the data dictionary http://help.arcgis.com/en/localgovernment/datadictionary.html May I know am I suppose to store everything in the FacilitiesStreets - FeatureDataset ? Or I have building dataset carparks dataset social building dataset Sorry, I am new to design geodatabase and I really don't like to screw up the schema design because in my software engineering career, I am force to work with a lot of problematic schema design and I don't want to be the cause of problem to other people further down the line.

May I know if there is a way to sync 2 personal geodatabase? Or the source must be an ArcSDE geodatabase. "Creates a replica to a personal, file, or SDE geodatabase from a specified list of feature classes, layers, datasets, and/or tables in an ArcSDE geodatabase." url: http://help.arcgis.com/en/arcgisdesktop/10.0/help/index.html#//001700000016000000

Thanks for replying, Yes I have read that topic "Geodatabase replication synchronizes changes from specific ArcSDE geodatabase versions. DBMS replication, when used with an ArcSDE geodatabase, applies changes across all versions in the geodatabase. Geodatabase replication supports all advanced geodatabase objects like topologies, relationships, and geometric networks. DBMS replication does not know how to properly replicate advanced geodatabase objects." I prefer using DBMS replication, but it seems that they do not support geometric networks which my system require for network analysis. From my understanding Geodatabase replication and syncrhonize requires a python script to be run periodically at an interval. Therefore additional maintenance. I'm trying to avoid such overheads, especially the client's side has a professional DBA but no available GIS specialist.

I'm new to arcgis and its applications. We have the full suite of arcgis solutions (arcgis server, desktop, arcgis sde) - 10.1 We have a requirement... geodatabase (A & B) A & B reside on 2 different server but connected via LAN A will be updated B will be a replica of A May I know what is the best solution to this issue? the geodatabase can be hosted on oracle DB, personal geodatabase or geodatabase file. I know that arcgistools has the functions to replicate and sync but according to my friend. the synchronization has to been done manually. (creeate a script and execute it periodically. Is there a way to mirror those 2 geodatabase on the fly/real-time?

I'm using ArcGIS 9.3.1 In my network there are isolated network(not connected to main network) and restricted(non-traversable network element position) When I plot 1 point close to a isolated or restricted road. It will snap to it and return me no solution found or restricted network. May I know is there a simple solution to ask the solver to choose another line/point if it can't find a solution? In arcgis 9.3.1 there is no "Exclude restricted portion of the network" and I don't wish to use the query builder to ignore FType that carry restricted options. So the main objective is to make the solver pick another line/point to snap on to. Thanks
