I'm currently having an issue displaying some of my Operational Layers in my Mobile Project when utilizing the Field Crew Task. My approach so far has been to publish both of my mxds (one of my project data, the other of my Field Crew) to my server. Once there, I go into my Mobile Project Center and add in my Field Crew Layer and then my Project data. Both are added under Operational Layers. Once I have set all of the parameters to my project, I save my project to my Server. This works fine and I have access to this project from my Mobile Device. I use the Download Project to download the project from my server, and type in all the necessary credentials. The projects loads and even brings up my Sign In Screen. However, once signed in, only my Field Crew Members appear on screen, none of my other Operational Data Layers get displayed. However, I am able to create these "non-displayed features", as well as have them appear in the Layer Display option. I have tried pretty much everything to this point. If anyone has any suggestions, I'd really appreciate it.

Any suggestions why not all of my layers will display when I utilize the Field Crew Members Layer? Everything shows up fine in my Mobile Project, created in Mobile Project Center using ArcGIS Server Service. However, when I open up my Mobile Project, only my Field Crew Members layer gets displayed, not the rest of my Operational Data Layers.

Is there better documentation out there, other than ESRI???s generic approach in the ArcGIS Resource Center, which explains how to implement and configure the View Field Crew task? All of my data is currently running out of a SDE geodatabase, and I have created both Field Crew Layers Feature Classes, along with their schema, exactly how ESRI???s documentation explains. However, I am lost when it comes to Authoring and Publishing the Field Crew Map. What exactly is my map document suppose to look like? Is it just your basic MXD document, with my AGM_FieldCrewMembers and AGM_FieldCrewLog Feature Classes contained inside? Do these Feature Classes need to actually be created in my MXD or do they just need to be contained within it, with each being properly symbolized? Also, does my map document need to be published as a map service with mobile data access capabilities or can it be cached like I would with my original MXD project? If someone could offer me a more in depth step by step approach, I???d really appreciate it. It would be really nice if there was a video which illustrated how to do this process, instead of it being just glossed over like most things.

Is there a way that a user could initiate an automatic response from his or her Mobile Project out in the field that would contact, or send, information to another party without having to sync the data from their Mobile Project? Essentially what I am thinking of is a process in which an Inspector, who finds something wrong in an emergency situation, could generate an automatic or instant response to a call center, which would indicate that there is a problem at a certain location. The Inspector should be able to send data (location, type of emergency) to the Call Center, while he or she is still remaining out in the field collecting his or her points. Thanks

Is there a method that I can use to "automatically" update my features' timestamp attribute without needing to click on the "update" toolbar within my drop down menu? I know that when you create or collect a new feature, an automatic timestamp update will occur and you don???t need to attribute your features timestamp. However; I am interested in attributing already existing features, and would like this automatic timestamp update to occur once I update any field, not just the date field. I have been unable to find any documentation on this particular situation, and ESRI doesn???t have any information regarding the specific tools or processes which occur within an ArcMobile project. Thanks.

The only solution which I have found, is to store your data in a File GeoDataBase, and not in a Personal. Hope this helps other people going through the same thing.

Just went through the same issue, where my Edited features from my Mobile device project were Synchronizing into my mxd project stacked on top of each other. The only solution which I have found, is to store your data in a File GeoDataBase, and not in a Personal.

Thanks I ended up just making them "Unsearchable" in my Mobile Project Center, and that helped alleviate my issue.

I am having a problem where any "original features" which I edit or attribute in my Mobile project, become stacked or duplicated on top of one another once I perform the Synchronize Mobile Cache tool in my ArcMap project. I am generating these "original features" from the same Feature class in my MXD project, and perform the Create Mobile Map, in order to cache these features for my mobile project. It appears as though the features which I edit or attribute in my mobile project, end up becoming stacked or duplicated on top of one another in the same location once I perform the Synchronize Mobile Cache. When I view my changes in my Mobile Project Center, everything is correct and as it should be. It isn't until I perform the Synchronization to my MXD that this problem is occurring. Is there something I am doing wrong? What is the reasoning behind this and how can I prevent it from happening? (Note: If a feature from the same Feature class is created from within my Mobile project, and is then Synchronized back into my MXD, along with my "original features", it will remain in the exact location where I created it, fully attributed.) Thanks

Is there a way to make a "cached" Operational Layer unselectable in my ArcGIS Mobile project? I would have liked to have placed this layer under my Base Map Layers, however, I do not have access to a GIS Server at the moment and ArcGIS Mobile v.10 doesn't allow cached Layers from an MXD to be placed in a Base Map Layer anymore. Any suggestions???? Thanks

Is there a way I can rename the "Identify" tool so that it will display as something else? If not, how should I go about creating a new Tool which can be used within my ArcGIS Mobile environment? Thanks, Steven

Is there a way to create a LIST in ArcGIS Mobile Project Center, using a Search Query from within the ArcGIS Mobile Project Center, which can then be used in your ArcGIS Mobile device? This way a LIST can be generated before you open your ArcGIS Mobile Device project, instead of having to run a Saved Search first. Thanks, Steven

I am trying to create an ArcGIS Mobile Project that will allow users to collect features, from the same Feature class, existing on multiple floor levels in a building. However, the issue I am running into, is that I am unable to toggle between the multiple floors. What I am looking for, is a method that will allow me to toggle between features so that I am only viewing one floor at a time, and only those features on that the specific floor are shown on my ArcGIS Mobile Device? Is there a way for me to do this, and still have all my features from the multiple floors all in one project? Thanks, Steven
