I was so excited because this is finally the question that should get the answer I need. I want my tool to stop right where it is, but it keeps going past the error. Maybe 6 years later someone will answer?

Hello Doug! I am not able to select and save the "Enable editing" option on the feature service. That is the issue I am having. And yes, I'd love if we could all use ArcGIS Pro, but we're not there yet!

Edit for clarity: I want to edit a hosted feature layer that was generated for Survey123 and am not able to enable editing. I get this message when I attempt to: Unable to load https://[us]/portal/sharing/proxy?https://arcgis.[us].gov:6443/arcgis/rest/admin/services/Hosted/service_858bcd8d366241c79c8d406afab9862b/FeatureServer/updateDefinition status: 500 I am trying to make the change using the portal website on the Settings tab for the feature layer. Original post with lots of unnecessary info: We want to publish a survey that has a few hidden fields that we can edit through ArcMap 10.5.1. (We want to collect some information from people and then store fields for internal use that tell us who's working on that record, etc.) I have published a survey through our Portal account with sufficient permissions, and had it create a hosted service - we don't need or want to manage it in SDE. I did not see any options during publishing and am not able to later change the settings on the service to allow editing. I get this error: Unable to load https://[us]/portal/sharing/proxy?https://arcgis.[us].gov:6443/arcgis/rest/admin/services/Hosted/service_858bcd8d366241c79c8d406afab9862b/FeatureServer/updateDefinition status: 500 This is through the Portal/home site and not admin, because I'm not very familiar with the latter. I did check if there were any errors/warnings in the logs when I tried to make those changes and there were none. I also see that the service is called a "Feature Layer" and not "Feature Service," and I had thought only the latter were editable. I don't see a way to CREATE a feature service on publication, though. I supposed I could write the service first and then create the survey on top of it, but that seems like a lot of extra work so I'm thinking I'm missing something. I see that I may face some workarounds when I DO finally make this editable, such as having to store a local copy and then sync it. I've also seen something about folks having an issue with "WebContextURL" but that is beyond me. Before I jump down that rabbit hole I was hoping someone can point me in the right direction, and then I will learn what I need to learn to fix it. Thank you!

I'm building a survey that requires an Area of Interest Polygon be drawn, and I am trying to make it so the form can't be submitted unless the polygon is between 0 and 10 acres. I've got the acre conversion, and I've got the calculation evaluating the size of the polygon, but I'm not sure how to DO something with that result. ${request_area_acres}<10 and ${request_area_acres} > 0 The statement evaluates to true or false as expected, but adding the constraint "TRUE" to the field and making it required does not work. I'm also not able to make the "TRUE" constraint lowercase, but I'm hoping that doesn't matter.

I have a publicly shared feature service published to Portal that includes a join through a read-only account to an SQL view in one database and a read-only account to our Roads layer in another database. https://webgis.durhamnc.gov/portal/home/item.html?id=770259d4df534d799a7c16b01c5fcd38 https://webgis.durhamnc.gov/server/rest/services/PublicWorksServices/Engineering_Inspections/MapServer Works when viewing the service in a browser. Works when viewing the map in Explorer while logged into Portal Does not work when viewing the map through Explorer when logged into AGOL (they will need to be logged into AGOL and cannot be logged into Portal) Meanwhile, while we try to access the layer through Explorer, we are getting the this error in the server log: An invalid where clause or definition expression has been requested: "GIS_Data.A1.Roads.GlobalID,GIS_Data.A1.Roads.OBJECTID,GIS_Data.A1.Roads.ROAD_NAME,PW.PW_RO.%LatestPavementLiftVW.roadStatus,GIS_Data.A1.Roads.SHAPE Details: The SQL view is a query on a feature class tied to a public survey. https://webgis.durhamnc.gov/portal/home/item.html?id=3aab3112a9fb41cc8afea0e57129cbad Join performed and service published through ArcGIS Pro. Couldn't publish from ArcMap. Error 001270 couldn't consolidate data and also (non-critical) 24040, layer has an in-memory join. Tried to join the service created of the view (https://webgis.durhamnc.gov/server/rest/services/PublicWorksServices/Engineering_Inspections/MapServer/5) with an existing service for our roads (http://durhamnc.maps.arcgis.com/home/item.html?id=afb81b5c61fb40e68a2ad38d71162247) but could never view the records for the view, and got a message that the layer hadn't drawn completely. I tried to publish just the view and roads in the same service but without the join, with the intention of performing the join online, but got error 00062 - that the map contains layers from two different databases. This was confusing as the sources were always two different databases and it was publishable before. I then tried to publish the view on its own, but have not been able to view records for it (https://webgis.durhamnc.gov/portal/home/item.html?id=bf55d646c98f4409b03a33dd2d6bbe64). I get the error that it cannot be drawn. I took out some fields, including the objectID, GlobalID, and shape fields and published it again, but still no dice. I can't open the attribute table. I add the GlobalID and objectID back in but can no longer overwrite the service. Created new MAP service (not feature service) with everything but the SHAPE field and a few text fields, but still no dice. I could publish it, but no attribute table pops up. I did this because I realized we wouldn't need a feature service and was hoping that just doing a map service would work, but it didn't. Thank you in advance for any insights on this! I have not posted to the forum before but did search for an answer and was unable to find anything specifically related to SQL views and viewing from Portal to AGOL. Apologies if I missed something.
