Hi I am Using ArcGIS Server 10.03 SP3. I created a geoprocessing service in the server which returns a result map service. I successfully created the gp service and map service with same name. I need to display the result in my application using ArcGIS Javascript API v3.3. The logic works like the sample application http://developers.arcgis.com/en/javascript/samples/gp_resultmapservice/ I tested the gp service in the REST Web interface and successfully executed.The result map is obtaining after completion of the task. But when I use it in the JS API (ver. 3.3) front end , the fire bug tool shows success execution of the gp task , but when it executes map.addLayer(gpLayer); the response shows dojo.io.script.jsonp_dojoIoScript9._jsonpCallback({"currentVersion":10.03,"error":{"code":400,"message":"Unable to complete operation.","details":["Invalid URL"]}}); When I tried the url http:// <mygisServer>/ArcGIS/rest/service/GPTask/MapServer/jobs/<jobid> The page not found error shows. When I changed the code with gp.getResultImageLayer(jobinfo.jobId, "output", imageParameters, function (gpLayer) { map.addLayer(gpLayer) }); I got the result . Can anybody help to find the exact reason? I need to include the service via ArcGISDynamicMapServiceLayer Here is the My sample code that Did not work function applyGPTask() { var gpServiceUrl = "http://localhost/ArcGIS/rest/services/GPTasks/GPServer/GPTask"; gp = new esri.tasks.Geoprocessor(gpServiceUrl); var params = { param1: "SUBDIVID=202", param2:"value2", param3: "value3" }; gp.setOutputSpatialReference({ wkid: 4326 }); gp.submitJob(params, gpJobComplete, gpJobStatus, gpJobFailed); } function gpJobComplete(jobinfo) { var mapurl = "http://localhost/ArcGIS/rest/services/GPTasks/MapServer/jobs/" + jobinfo.jobId; var gpLayer = new esri.layers.ArcGISDynamicMapServiceLayer(mapurl, { "id": "gpoutput", "opacity": 0.7 }); map.addLayer(gpLayer); }

Hi, I have the following requirement. I created a web application with User accounts. based on the User type I need to filter certain point layer with a selected cities region. Ie , when user log in, his accessible cities (city ids are retrieved from a db) will get. With these city IDs , select corresponding city geometries regions from the map. After doing an Union operation on all these polygons (city layer) , give resulting final polygon to a spatial Query filter , so that certain point layers need to be shown filtered by this polygon. So that user can only see the his accessible points features filtered by cities regions. I am using ArcGIS JS API V.3.3 with ArcGIS Server 10 Kindly please help me how can achieve this goal. Is a solution possible via REST API/ JS API? Geoprocessing solution also accepted. Thanks in advance Shabeerali

Hi I need to develop a functionality in our web mapping application using Silverlight API. The functionality is to export any arcgis service map layer or a selected feature or buffered area into a shapefile from the web interface itself. Suppose it is not possible can I create ArcToolBox Service and publish which take input features and export to a shapefile then write to a filesystem that the ArcGIS Server can access. Later a third party web service read these contents and stream into the client. Please help to solve this issue. Thanks in advance Shabeer

Aim :Upgrade GeoDatabase issue. Trouble to connect to sql 2005 ArcSDE geodatabase through direct connection to SqlServer DB using ArcCatlog 10.0 I need to upgrade several spatial data into ArcSDE 10 Databse,the data I took from ArcSDE 9.3.1 configured Sql Server DB as backup. I restored the same database into a different name. I decided to upgrade these spatial data into ArcSDE 10 configured SQL Server 2005. I am using ArcCatalog 10 for doing this. When I connected to the old Sql Server 2005 db using SpatailDataConnection utlity provided in the ArcCatalog 10, I got the error message as shown in the Attachment. I tried to install the 9.2 Direct Connect Driver in the same machine where Arc Desktop 10 is residing. Because of ArcDesktop 10 is residing on the machine I cannot install the Direct Connect Driver. Is there any method to resolve my problem? thanks in advance
