Thanks Dan for your response. I was trying to find the "Import from CAD" tool in ArcGIS and I couldn't, and I really didn't get the difference between the CAD to GeoDatabase tool and the Import From CAD tool after reading the Help page for both. In the Import From CAD page, they have mentioned that : I think they mean that this tool is not used anymore?

I received comments on my GIS submission from a client that I am working with. His comments confused me a bit. Basically, I am converting CAD to GDB, and doing spatial joints and attaching datasheets to the GDB. The comment that I received is as follow: "the submitted GDB has different shape attribute properties. This needs to be standard for all the feature classes in the GDB" Apparently, the client is opening the attributes table, and checking the properties of the "Shape". The client attached two screenshots, one for my submitted GDB and one for how the GDB should look like: Can anyone help me understand whats the difference between 2 ? and how can I fix this issue?

Hi I am an ArcGIS new user, as I am relatively new in the GIS Field. I am trying to do quantity take off using ArcGIS. here is the problem I am facing: I have polygons that represent the plots for a specific area and I have paving surface (tin surface) that represents the paving. I am trying to divide (split) the paving based on the plots polygons, so that I will get a separate paving piece for each plot. what tool shall I use in order to cut my paving tin surface based on my plots polygons? after cutting the tin surface into multiple ones, will I be able to get the 3D area of the paving per plot ? Thanks

Hi Sara, I am facing the same problem, but the split is not working at all, the outcome of the (split) tool was a bit funny, as I didn't get all of the polygons(I only got like 5% or less of my entire polygons) Anyone Can Help me in Note: I have tried the editor in ArcMAP, the cut polygon tool, and tracing option . it worked perfectly, but the problem is that I have so many polygons and it would take so much time. I need something similar to this tool but more automated. Thanks
